“Beautiful rooms with convient location, but bring your own pillow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014 via mobile

I stayed in room 408 of the Helen house, this is a great room that is toward the back and away from noise. If you are planning on spending the day shopping, this place is extremely convienent. Its only a walk away from all the shops and restaurants and you get free parking while you are there. The rooms are pretty, with a romantic electric fireplace, but the beds are extremely firm, and the pillows kind of dissapointing. The shower is a walk in with a fold down seat if you want to sit down or are disabled. You are mostly paying for the convince here though, service was OK, I had to badger them with questions, they don't divulge information voluntarily. Overall good experience, awesome location for shopping.

Very charming small hotel with plenty of room inside each suite.
Very clean and updated, however it keeps the traditional 1930's
architecture. A small fireplace in each suite and confortable beds
along with workable windows with screens are the norm.
Nicely laid out and spaced, this inn is very centraly located to
the downtown area. Live band in the evenings liven things up for our pleasure.

Room Tip: All rooms are really excellent.

Wonderful adobe architecture, beautiful southwest decor, friendly service, very clean. Hopping bar with great music. Lovely courtyards. Very romantic. Close to the plaza and shops and restaurants. Fireplaces, wood beam ceilings, wood shutters on the windows. Authentic and charming.

I love this place because it is special. Starting with check in we were early arriving but instead of telling us to come back, they upgraded our room to one already cleaned. Our room had a great bed, a seating area, and a big closet. It was located in a little courtyard shaded with nice trees. The Adobe Bar had great drinks and live music. Stay here if you go to Taos. It's unique in the best way.

The Historic Inn has a lovely vibe. Each room is unique and has its own personality. The common spaces in the courtyards are so relaxing. Fountains; green grass; shade; places to sit and read. Free internet and great folks at the front desk.

Room Tip: Make sure you review the rooms on the website. Price differs depending on size of room.

Our experience at the Taos Inn was great. Doc Martins had the best Margarita's with a wide variety of Tequila to choose from. We also enjoyed the fried calamari appetizer. Great restaurant located in the hotel. Rooms were reasonably priced with no two alike. Fireplaces in many of the rooms. Overall a great place to stay when in Taos..

Room Tip: Band plays nightly til ten. May want to avoid rooms over the bar if you plan on getting to bed earl...

This hotel and food prices were very over priced.
The furniture in the room was old, uncomfortable and with the chair seemingly ready to collapse.
The shower in the room had no safety bars and had soap scum adhering to the floor and back shower tile.
Bad service in the bar, dining room and from housekeeping who kept bugging us to leave our room before checkout time.
Mgt blamed everything on "new people".
It was a unpleasant two day stay experience.

Room Tip: Do not stay there, do not get swayed by the advertisments
