“Great place to stay in Taos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

We stayed here 2 nights and had a great stay. The hotel is located on the main road but the rooms are back away so nice and quiet. It is an easy walk to the downtown area from here. We stayed in the back rooms on the second floor. The rooms are huge and have a balcony that overlook the central garden area. The rooms are very clean with great beds and quiet. The center garden area has a sitting area with fire pit and grills. The breakfast in the morning was very nice and they have an outstanding staff that really goes out of their way to make sure your taken care of. I highly recommend this hotel and will be staying here again on our next trip to Taos.

We were really happy that we chose the El Pueblo Lodge for our one night in Taos. The staff were charming and friendly. We used the pool and hot tub as soon as we checked in, and it was well-kept and clean. Our room was right across from the pool area. The room was decently sized and spotlessly clean. The bed and linens were fantastic, and we loved that the room had a ceiling fan. My husband hated flipping through the Direct TV, he said it was too complicated. The grounds were clean and well-kept. At breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they use actual cups, dishes and cutlery rather than disposable everything. Lots of breakfast choices and again the staff were friendly and prompt to refill anything that was getting low. The hotel is located north of all the touristy stuff, and everything seems to close really early. We would definitely stay here again if we went to Taos.

While the paint on the outside may appear faded and pealing the rooms are well maintained, spacious, and comfortable. The grounds are well maintained and inviting. We had a room with a fireplace which provided much needed warmth and a cozy romantic atmosphere. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were fantastic and not the normal slab of foam. The continental breakfast was served in a quaint comfortable setting and included all the normal items. It had a very efficient toaster that could accommodate a large number of guests quickly.

Room Tip: There are no elevators to the second floor rooms and the walkways are gravel which makes it a little...

This facility sits at the northern end of town so its a bit of a walk to the plaza. It was clean, quiet, & comfortable. Nice large room and bath area. Good free breakfast selections and a jolly hostess who keeps your coffee mug filled!

We stayed here for a two day stop in the middle of our 12 day sightseeing trip from Phoenix to Taos and back. Very convenient for visiting Taos Pueblo and good that it is a bit out of town but still within walking distance of the Plaza.
We asked for a quiet room which is exactly what we got - a big room with a fire place. The pool was warm and very welcome.
The only problem is that the breakfast area is rather cramped and busy so even though the morning was on the cool side on the second morning we donned our coats and sat outside in the garden which was much better.

Clean and cozy. We stayed for two nights here. Quiet property with lots of parking. We will be back. We walked to a few close by places to shop and eat. Laundry room available on site. Looks a bit outdated on the outside but is a gem in the Taos area.

Room Tip: Get a room with the patio. They are in the back of the property.

It's been a few years since we stayed here, but based on how long it had been open prior to our visit, I would say it's still a hidden gem! Love the atmosphere of a true "motor lodge". The rooms are nice size, with SW motif. On site washer/dryer. Breakfast included. The BEST part for us - we were a group of 16 bicyclists and after a long day's ride, we could pull our chairs out into the courtyard and have an afternoon happy hour. Can't get much better than that!

NOTE: Trip Advisor will not let you go back far enough to put a date more than 12 months back. it has been several years since I visited this place, but loved it and thought I would give it a good review. ; )
