“Very Disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

First impression, very nice. Once seated, food is mediocure at best and seriously over-priced. Drinks are very expensive $7.50 for a regular size margarieta....was told at hotel, if we showed our room key we would receive a 10% discount off our bill....hostess at desk absolutely said no way and was very rude about it. One star, at best

“Interesting, and good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

If you aren't a fan of Mexican food, it is hard to find a restaurant with a lot of choices of "American Food" in Santa Rosa. Despite its advertising, you can get a good meal minus heat at the Santa Fe Grill. The restaurant does some quirky things: nobody can have more than two drinks, for example. And the wine is served in individual plastic bottles. And the non-Mexican entrees are accompanied by toast. But we've eaten in this restaurant several times, and have always enjoyed our meal. The food is well prepared with fresh ingredients and served promptly by competent servers. For diner fare, who needs more than that?

“Owned by my father in law”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

So naturally I eat here frequently whenever I visit my wife's family. Since everyone will think I'm biased, I'm not going to rave about the food. The menu was developed by my mother-in-law and my sister in law. They used to own the Denny's up the hill from the Grill, but they wanted to run a real local restaurant to showcase New Mexican Cuisine. The family first settled in the area in the late 1500's. It doesn't get more authentic than that.

My favorite items are the liver and onions (yes, really), the chimichangas ( a delightful change from what you thought was a chimichanga), the chips and salsa, and anything local with chili verde.

“Jewel of the desert on Route 66”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

We had dinner at this restaurant on Old Route 66. The Mexican style food was great! The shredded chicken burrito had just the right amount of spice with great flavor. The spicy beef enchiladas were some of the best we have ever had. The iced tea was fresh brewed! Our 6 year old had the spaghetti and meatballs and her plate was clean with no complaints. Service was quick and friendly. Looking forward to a return trip on our way back home!

“Friendly service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

Food here was fairly good, quite a lot of Mexican-type with some others. The service was really good, the people were very friendly and the meal was served quickly.
