“Above average New Mexico food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

Very good value overall with excellent, quick service. Stuffed sopapillas were very tasty and not too spicy. Try the combo plate - good sampler of a chili relleno, taco and cheese enchilada. Sopapillas for dessert were fresh and light. Place looks a little old but was clean and well kept. We did not use the bar but it looked huge.

“Just Awful!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

If you appreciate traditional New Mexican food, avoid this place! In fact, if you appreciate edible food, stay away! Starting with the chips and "salsa" (commercial barbeque sauce with some chile in it?!?), the meal got worse. The cheese enchiladas had almost no cheese and stale greasy tortillas. The beef tacos were filled with dry, overcooked, almost unseasoned beef with about 10 strands of commercial shredded cheese, and nothing else! Lettuce shreds and chopped tomatoes (which actually were fresh and tasty) were on the side. The taco shells certainly were from a package. The beans were straight out of the can (probably Old El Paso or something of the sort). The sopapillas were doughy, dense, and tough. In short, everything except the beer was almost flavorless and not at all good. The only positive thing to offer is that the waitress was quite good and her service was very good. Save your money for good food.

“Consistently Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We've never had a bad meal at Los Cuates and we've eaten here quite often. Service is good, prices are fair, and the food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. Can't ask much more. Try the "smaller" portions. They are a real value and are always large enough for a hungry man!

“Good Mexican!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

The enchilada and chili rellenos are great! A good alternative if you are in the east mountains of Albuquerque.
