Located 15 minutes north of Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, Casa Blanca in San Antonio, New Mexico is a paradise for birders.
I recently stayed there during the annual Festival of the Cranes, a week long event at the refuge and the neighboring town of Socorro, NM.
Food was delicious, rooms comfortable. Environment was warm and friendly. One of the hosts was the manager of this national wildlife refuge for many years. Consequently his knowledge of the area is vast and his stories are real. Plus there is a wonderful library to use while visting.
I highly recommend Casa Blanca to anyone visitng Bosque del Apache and the Socorro area.
P.S. If you haven't seen the Milky Way lately, it is visible from the yard.
