“Truely Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2012

Stayed here a while ago but would throughly recommend the hospitality. Food was very different with things such as Kudo on the menu. Fresh fruit in the morning and if you dont like bees stay in bed. The rooms are fanyasyic with out door showe facility which over looks the savanah and a bar in the room, take out a bottle of south afrian wine on the veranda and jump in the plunge pool and enjoy a glass whatching the elephants, lions , rhinos etc pass by. The safaris are amazing too, during the evening one we saw lion cubs in a pride of lions. Views of the milky way are fabulous too - very romantic. We saw rhinos, owls, lions, giraffe, deer, elephants, wilde beast, buffalo, birds and more. Plus an amazing terrain. the rangers are extremely knowledgeable

Room Tip: they are all beautiful

the location was exquisite high on a hill over the wilderness. Each villa had a plunge pool on their deck and the rooms were large and very "african" in feeling. We had fabulous service and had to be escorted to our villa after sundown for our own protection by security. They had a wonderful variety of complimentary cocktails and the food was all fresh. We were always met by the staff with cool towels and a drink upon arrival from our game drives. We did a pre-down and a pre-sundown drive every day and our gruide was very knowledgeable. We saw an amazing array of animals from lions, wild dogs, elephants, rhinos, wild dogs, hyenas, impalas, kudu, zebra and giraffes plus many variety of birds. It was a once and a lifetime experience.

Room Tip: I think all the suites are exactly the same and all have ant spray in the rooms - but they are large...

My husband and I recently went to Madikwe Safari Lodge for a long weekend. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jeremy, the friendly general manager, and his very attentive staff. Throughout our entire holiday at the lodge, the entire staff (including the security guards!) went out of their way to ensure our perfect holiday. The food was absolutely amazing and the outside dinners underneath the stars were memorable experiences that we will never forget. The rooms were luxurious and comfortable - we especially loved the private balcony and outdoor shower looking out into the bush. Our game drives were incredible, as we saw lots of animals (including a pack of the very rarely sighted wild dogs!). The passion that Jeremy and his staff is clearly evident. We highly, highly recommend Madikwe Safari Lodge to anyone looking for a bush holiday and will most certainly come back soon. Thanks again for the holiday of a lifetime.

Room Tip: All rooms are gorgeous and have private balconies/plunge pools/outdoor showers. Can't go wrong a...

I've just returned from a weekend at Madikwe and must admit it was an absolutely glorious expereince. Before we left I'd read some reviews and the "Arachnophobia 2" review bothered me a little. I can however say that the picture painted was totally misleading. I found the staff to be fantastic, the rooms to be very well kept and the game drives superb (we saw so many animals - unbelievable!!). I'll highly recommend it to anybody looking to experience a safari lodge.

We recently held our wedding there and what an amazing place with amazing people. We have been there before an knew that we would have an excellent experience but we never thought that they could be even better, they pulled out all the stops :-) from the rangers to the mangers who helped us with every little details and request no matter how small. What a wonderful friendly bunch of people in the most beautiful setting All we can say is thank you thank you thanks you :) and we look forward to coming back soon ;-)

From the moment we landed at the game reserve airstrip until we flew out the staff just could not do enough for you. Met at the airstrip by our "host ranger" Andre there was never a dull moment with him. Upon arrival at the lodge we were greeted by camp Manager Soloman and his very attentive staff. Accommodation was very spacious , With outside viewing deck, outside shower and plunge pool this just added that extra "wow" factor.
The game drives were remarkable. We were lucky to share our experiences with the Cranney Family (see their review below), great company . Andre was a live-wire even at 5.30am before we started the game drives. He had so many stories to relay. He was always listening to what we wished to view. His observations whilst on the drives were phenomenal. On one early morning drive he spotted a Wildebest was giving birth. Brakes on, quick reverse and 30 minutes of an experience we will never forget. Yes Andre also deilvered on the Big Five. His knowledge of the animals and birds was outstanding. On our last evening drive we unfortunately got caught in a short storm. Not to be deterred , rainwear was handled out and "Indianna Andre" standing to see above the windscreen drove on looking for an area in the game reserve where it was dry. Truely a magical experience for the three days. Thank you Andre and all the staff at the Madikwe Safari Lodge for a holiday we will never forget.

Room Tip: If you like a stroll choose lodges 16 and 17. The "Fitness Centre" is a "gym-in-a-ba...
