Greg will set you up for some great photos. He understands how to position the truck for you to get great shots. The rest of the drivers dont care that much about positioning for photography but u will see amazing stuff. take a super long lens i took a canon 100-400mm f4 with a 7d.

The Ezulwini Game Lodges surpassed every one of our expectations. The accomodations were absolutely first class, the food amazing, the hospitality was second to none, but face it, the reason you go to Africa for a photo safari is to see the wildlife, and thats what made this the trip of our lifetime. The guides and trackers at the lodge are top notch, we got to see the Big Five, Lions, Leopards, Cape Buffalo, Elephants and Rhino's, along with tons of others in the first three days! And the guides were able to get us within a meter or two of all of them. Just incredible. We stayed 3 days at River Lodge and 3 days at Billy's Lodge, and would recommend trying both, as it gives two different perspectives, vegetation and wildlife. Our favorite was River Lodge, only because of the incredible experience meeting the Hostess Erin and Trevor the guide. They made our experience so memorable, and would go back just because of them! If you are going on a Safari, you have to stay here, it will change you forever.

This was truly the trip of a lifetime. If we ever have the opportunity to return then we shall without hesitation. We were able to stay in both of the Ezulwini lodges; River Lodge and Billy's Lodge. The River Lodge is a more quaint location, whereas Billy's Lodge is quite "the setup". That said, one gets to experience two holidays in one. In both locations we were treated masterfully and everything we wanted was made available to us. Now, as important as all the four star stuff is, the main reason we were there was to go on a photo safari. This tends to get lost in these reviews when people are waiting on you hand and foot. The safari was absolutely the most awsome experience I believe I have ever had. Both lodges made every effort to have us see every wild African animal, not only the big five. We did see all of the big five in the first couple of days and I mean we saw them up close and personal!!! Additionally, we saw amazing birds, hippos, giraffe, zebra and all sorts of other creatures as well as foliage and rock formations. It was truly an adventure and one I highly recommend to everyone. One other thing I might mention is that we met some wonderful people whom we hope to be friends with forever.

Excellent location, the Safari's were great. Rex our guide was fantastic !

However, was a disappointed from our room at Billy Lodge which is supposed to be a 4*/5* lodge. I found the room to be good but to a 2*...max 3* level....May be it was just this room..

On the whole, did enjoy a lot there...The Wine Cellar was a great experience, and so was the Barbecue night.

We spent 2 N in Billy's and 1N in River Lodge, and was quite surprised by our room at River lodge, which turned out to be better...

Overall, loved the experience.

Just returned to Ezulwini for my second visit. It was just as magical as the first visit. Amazing accommodations, friendly and attentive staff, great game drives, good food and wine, experienced guides who put us on the animals, and great value. Currently planning my 3rd trip back.

Lawrence and his staff are amazing. You immediately feel like part of family. He invited all of the guests down to the wine cellar to explain the history of the area over a great bottle of wine.

His guides are the most respected in the park. It was apparent the other lodge's guides defer to Rex and Greg for locating the animals. We were there for 3 nights nights this time and saw leopard, cheetah, lion, hippo, elephant, black rhino, white rhino, giraffe, zebra, wart hogs, ...... Our young kids were in the pool constantly. They were so worn out from such amazing days they didn't make it through one dinner and had to be carried back to the suite all 3 nights. The staff was so attentive they insisted on carrying them back each night. They wouldn't let us lift a finger.

Can't wait to return.

My wife and i were privileged to spend 5 days and 4 nights at River Lodge and Billy's Lodge of the Ezulwini Game Lodges. We experience wonderful accommodations, unbelievable meals, outstanding hospitality and staff, incredible safari's twice daily with superbly knowledgeable and experienced guides. The owner and our host was Laurence, along with his amazing staff. Laurence is a consummate host who does everything he can to ensure THE most outstanding experience for those staying at the lodges. Below is my thank you to he and his wife.

Laurence,
This is a belated-but-extremely-grateful thank you for your vision and sweat-equity invested to make Ezulwini truly a place of heaven and an experience of paradise. Though i know this has come through much toil, labor, and memories (especially Billy’s Lodge), you and Tess have created an experience truly unparalleled anywhere else on earth.

We had THE most wonderful and amazing time. We came with much anticipation, but no expectations (e.g. “we HAVE to see the Big 5 – or Big 7 or Big 10!”, etc.). Our anticipation was hugely satisfied, and even if we had previous expectations, they would have been unbelievably exceeded. Seeing all the Big 5...Big 7...was just frosting on the cake!

Finishing out our (too short!) time at Billy’s, with your amazing graciousness and hospitality (along with your team/staff), just simply blew us away. We had no idea what we were in for. Truly the experience and vacation of our lives! We truly hope to return – soon!

Thank you again VERY much, and please pass on all of our thanks to all there – Erin, Greg, Trevor, Richard, Lawrence, Edward, Tammy, Rex, Conrad, and all the others that help make Ezulwini a TRUE fulfillment of Zulu meaning!

Room Tip: All the accommodations are excellent, and it is not possible (in my opinion) to be given a room/hut...

My wife and I recently spent 2 nights each at Ezulwini's two lodges (Billy's and River) in the greater Kruger National Park. Both were excellent facilities with hospitable staff and expert guides/trackers. We saw the Big 5 and enjoyed wonderful food, wine, and fellow guests from around the world. Billy's is larger, newer, and fancier including its own wine cellar. The owner hosted a wonderful pre-dinner wine tasting and introduction on our first day. Still, we liked the variety of 2 nights in each place. 4 nights total felt just right.
