Blink and you’ll miss Tina’s driveway, directly across from Ruidoso’s municipal swimming pool. Look for the head-high, tiny yellow sign at 522 Sudderth, to off-street parking.
We braved cool temps on this breezy spring day to dine on Tina’s deck, overlooking the creek below. Inside, a packed house of mostly locals enjoyed the good things rolling out of her kitchen.
Expect nothing fancy, except what’s on your plate. Rustic setting, with open kitchen – you walk through to be seated on the deck – adds to casual atmosphere. Friendly, attentive service.
Special this day was tender chunks of boneless skinless chicken breast served in a puff pastry, smothered in a green chili cream sauce. This was a 5-star dish, a total delight. Supremely flaky puff pastry was prepared on-site. Who does this anymore?
Some will disagree with my high rating for romance & atmosphere, but for us, it worked.
