“Zen Master of Puff Pastry”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Blink and you’ll miss Tina’s driveway, directly across from Ruidoso’s municipal swimming pool. Look for the head-high, tiny yellow sign at 522 Sudderth, to off-street parking.

We braved cool temps on this breezy spring day to dine on Tina’s deck, overlooking the creek below. Inside, a packed house of mostly locals enjoyed the good things rolling out of her kitchen.
Expect nothing fancy, except what’s on your plate. Rustic setting, with open kitchen – you walk through to be seated on the deck – adds to casual atmosphere. Friendly, attentive service.

Special this day was tender chunks of boneless skinless chicken breast served in a puff pastry, smothered in a green chili cream sauce. This was a 5-star dish, a total delight. Supremely flaky puff pastry was prepared on-site. Who does this anymore?

Some will disagree with my high rating for romance & atmosphere, but for us, it worked.

“Regular Tina's Visitor's Shining Review”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

Tina's is the best place to go in town, bar none. The love that goes into each dish is obvious. My wife and I have tried everything on the menu and haven't been disappointed yet; though Tina's daily lunch specials are regularly on the amazing side. We ordinarily watch portion sizes and often share appetizers, entrees and desserts. At Tina's, we always order our own meals AND save room for dessert!! The chicken tamale plate is a can't miss, or if you're lucky enough to visit during a puffed pastry special, enjoy regardless of filling. Save room for the green chile peach or apple pie. Sit near the wood burning stove in the winter or on the patio overlooking the Rio Ruidoso in the summer.

“Great home cooked food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

Tina makes her famous cinnamon rolls daily, and the ones with bits of bacon are to die for. Her homemade tamales are regularly sold out by noon. All of her entrees are delicious, and during the summer the lemonade has a touch of lavender. The desserts are wonderful.

“They Do It Right!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

The food is fresh and delicious and so creative. The atmosphere inside is cozy and outside beautiful. The green chile tamales and the no name breakfast burrito will keep you coming back.
