“Fantastic time, great viewing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2011

Had a wonderful time here on honeymoon in Sept 2010. Looked after fantastically by Will and Isaac on our game drives, got a real taste for their Mocca-Rocca-Chocca! Saw everything we wanted and more, including the big 5, wild dogs and all manner of birds. Food and lodge were lovely. Only minor criticism was the minibar which was never re-filled (water not alcoholic drinks), but that was only little thing could criticise. Otherwise wouldn't hesitate to return and plan on doing so in next few years.

We stayed 2 nights at the end of a 17 day excursion in southern Africa (after Vic Falls, Cape Town, then 2 nights at Kirkman's Kamp). Bwana Dave, a regular contributor to this site, helped us to arrange the whole trip. His recommendation for Dulini as our final stop was spot-on. The luxurious accommodations were superb. All meals were incredibly delicious. The game viewing while we were there (mid-May) was very good. We saw leopards at night and during the daytime. Lions were frequently spotted, including the most fabulous experience with a mama lion and her 2 cubs.

I had previously stayed at Phinda with &Beyond (CC Africa as it was called back then) and didn't think I could be more impressed. Dulini did that for me. Whilst quality like this does cost a substantial amount of money, the times that you get to see such splendor are extremely rare on this earth.

Staff as always are world class as are the amenities. Whilst leopards are renowned for being very difficult to spot, in Sabi Sabi, they appear plentiful. So much so, we had great spottings three of the four days. These spottings cluded stalking prey and walking right by us. They also had wild dogs and their pups as well as the usual great sightings of elephant, lions, buffalo and giraffe.

It is unlikely to be my last time with &Beyond, we are huge fans. A big thank you to the @Beyond sales staff member in Susan Coulson. Susan was particularly patient with us during the booking process and provided great insight into the different options we had. Thank you Susan!

Cheers, Scott

There are some places in the world that bring memory for a lifetime! Dulini is definitely one of them. The service was outstanding, the staff is genuinely nice with the right balance between too much and not enough.
Our guide Fin and tracker Jack made a very good pair and we had some awesome leopard sightings and moments! I truly miss the early morning roiboss and rusks and the afternoon sundowners ! We had the luck to be there for Christmas and boy, the morning safari of the 25th is quite something! I definitely recommend that!
Leaving the place was painful and we had to hug Fin and Jack for the great time spent!

Our first safari and it was a truely incredible experience from start to finish. We spent four nights there and can't wait to go back! We saw all of the 'big 5' and much, much more. Our ranger William was very knowledgable and enthusiastic, and he along with our tracker Isaac, helped to make our holiday unforgettable. The accomodation was very spacious and had lots of little extras that we didn't expect. Our butler, Reply, looked after us really well and couldn't do enough for us. Food was delicious and we had dinner in a different setting every night. Very personal and friendly service from all the staff. We thoroughly recommend Dulini.

Stayed four nights and had a fantastic time, one of the best trips ever and Dulini played a big part on this.

In terms of game viewing we were lucky and our Ranger Andrew did a fantastic job, were able to see 4 Leopards which I understand is not typical as well as many big 5, even saw some Lionesses with their pups only 500 meters away from the lodge! besides the luck for finding animals, the attitude and skills of the ranger and tracker are excellent

The food is very good and even got out of their way in order to comply with some special requests we made, service provides some nice experiences and is very personal, only one time during the forur days we felt that a waiter did not use a good approach when talking to us, other than that service is very personalized due to the fact that there are only 6 rooms in the lodge.

The rooms are really big, with a lovely view to a river, and we got to see some elephants eating only at 20 meters from our room!

Dulini Lodge is an amazing place on so many levels, but what sets it apart from any other place I have ever stayed before is the attention to detail and incredible service. There are so many personalized touches that I would not even know where to start (plus, I wouldn't want to give away some of the surprises!). It is a magical place where exclamations of "this is truly amazing" and "this is the highlight of our honeymoon" became the constant refrain.

The game viewing is world class. My wife and I saw the big five withing three drives, and after that the surprises just kept coming: a pack of rare wild dogs were denning on the lodge's property, a lioness called her cubs out of hiding and we watched their joyful reunion, and a leopard stalking impala. Our ranger and guide were both fantastic and provided us with a wealth of information pertaining to everything from bird species to the history of the lions in the area to the constellations on a clear, beautiful night. We even (unintentionally) stayed during a full lunar eclipse, for which the lodge pulled out all of the stops and made fo an unforgettable outdoor boma (bbq) underneath the moonlight.

The lodge's accomodations are cozy and tasteful. The bathroom in our suite was, as my wife exclaimed, the nicest she'd ever seen. Not only is Dulini Lodge a magical, beautiful place with world class service, but it is also a relative bargain when it comes to high-end safaris. You will be rewarded if you choose Dulini as your safari destination.
