This is a beautifully done small museum. Especially loved the Hurd and O'Keefe art. Definitely worth a visit.

“Wonderful Extensive Art Work”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

The museum was donations only. I was surprised by how big the place was and how much art work there was. They have many famous artists displayed. I loved the art work by Henrietta Wyeth (daughter of Andrew Wyeth).

Thank you for stopping in! We're lucky to have expanded out of the Founder's Gallery (the original part of the building, which opened in 1937) into the 50,000 square feet we have today.

“There's more to Roswell than Aliens!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2014

We arrived in Roswell a little earlier than we expected (after driving from Houston TX) and decided to check this museum out in the 30-40 minutes that were left before it closed for the evening. What a nice find - the big surprise being the section devoted to rocket pioneer John Goddard. As far as the rest of the museum goes, I personally didn't care that much for some of the abstract art but the collection of native American artefacts and relics from Roswell's wild west days were very interesting. The museum is free (although they appreciate donations) and this is a nice diversion from the alien stuff in Roswell.

“Fine Regional Art Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

Well curated collections of quite nice paintings and sculpture, including a very good gallery of southwest art. There is also a section devoted to the (scientific) work of rocket scientist Robert Goddard, including a great collection of his early rockets. We were impressed with the work on display from students in classes that the museum conducts. Altogether a very agreeable visit.

Note, by the way, that while the address of the Museum is 11th Street, its front door is on 10th street, and access to the parking lot is from 9th street.

Thank you Rick, for pointing out that about our entrance. GPS like to lead visitors to the back. Eventually we hope to get our official address changed to lead them to the parking lot.

I know Sara, our Curator of Collections, will appreciate your comments about the exhibitions.
