“Unfriendly staff, room not prepared, won't be back”

I've stayed at this motel at least three times before in the past and it was OK, but my last trip was not very good. I was awakened by loud noises outside the room at about 3:30 a.m. When I gave up on sleep at about 6 a.m. I discovered that there were no bath towels in the room. I went down to get them and saw that two rooms downs from ours the window screen had been knocked out on the ground and the window was wide open. It looked like it had been burglarized. When I asked the the desk clerk about it, he wouldn't tell me, only saying "that has been taken care of." It was patronizing and did not do anything to reassure me that my family was staying in a safe place. It was likely that it was just a misbehaving guest, and there were no concerns for safety, but it was very frustrating that when a guest is awakened in the middle of the night and sees a nearby room that looks like it was burglarized, he does not get a truthful answer from the establishment.
