“Great for families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Teenagers loved the slopes and there was a great deck for non skiers to watch. Back of the mountain was beautiful and full of Aspen trees.

“Great trip, beautiful area with friendly service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

We spent Spring Break in Red River and had a great time. It was a great place for my husband and kids to learn to how to ski. I had not ski'd in many years and only at the big resorts in Colorado so was not sure what to expect. We were all pleasantly surprised. The people at Red River were all very nice and very helpful even during their busiest most insane time of year. It was CRAZY the first day. If you can avoid lessons that first Monday of spring break, do it. If you cannot, make sure you get the lunch option for the kids as you don't have to wait in line. I waited in line for 30 minutes to get my kids in ski school, 20 more minutes to pick them up for lunch, a crazy and insane wait in the chalet for lunch. We ended up sitting on the floor while picnic families who were supposed to eat outside sat at the tables. Was NOT happy after spending $45 for lunch for one adult and 2 kids. The next 2 days were great. It was crowded at the main life but once you got away from there, the other lifts had almost no lines at any time.

“Good time but a bit chaotic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

We did go during their busiest time, spring break. they were not prepared for the crowd at the ski rental. it was a confusing, haphazard process to get the gear in a very small space. once you get it, there is only one lift to get up unless you want to hike about 3 blocks to the next one. The runs are kind of labeled and it takes a day to get it figured out so you dont end up on the wrong ones. My daughter lost her hat on a run and when we went at the end of the day to ask about lost and found they seemed a bit confused. they have one downstairs but also told us to look upstairs at the cashiers.

I will say the kids had a great time so we will likely go back (just not during spring break as it was too crowded for me!)

“Great family skiing--The BEST place to learn to ski/snowboard.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

Love this great homey ski-town and the Red River Ski area. Food/drink at the lift and at the top of the mountain. A lot of room in the bunny slope with a small chair--learn on/off the chair here instead of up on the hill.
