We made reservations in error for two nights. Upon arriving, we couldn't believe what we encountered. The couch was so nasty we didn't want to sit on it. The bed didn't look much better. We decided that we were there for only two nights and would survive. We stayed outside as long as we could and when we were getting ready to go inside for the night, we found neither the heater, nor the fireplace were working. The office gave us matches and we went back to light the heater and fireplace. The matches wouldn't work because we didn't have a box to strike them on. We went back down and gave her the matches back and asked her to call the maintenance man to come light the heater and fireplace. I told her I didn't really think we should be expected to light the heater. The maintenance man came in a short time and tried to light both the fireplace and the heater without any success. We returned to the office and requested our money back. The office manager reluctantly gave it to us. We were very happy to be able to move on. We were traveling with another couple and they were two rooms down and their heater and fireplace couldn't be lit either. We also talked to the couple next to us and they didn't have a heater or fireplace that would work. I advise you to stay elsewhere. Along with the couple we were traveling with, we went to the Riverside Lodge and were treated very nice. They rented us a two bedroom condo, with full kitchen, dining room, living room and 3 bathrooms, with a garage on the river for only $7.50 per couple more a night than what we were to pay Lazy Miner (for two suites each having two tiny rooms with a dirty couch, a little refrig, coffee pot and standing fireplace--NO microwave). I used the word suite because that is what they call the unit.
