Nice hotel and not far from the Sandia Peak tramway and the Sandia Casino. The highway was close and provided excellent access to other highways. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The eating area was very small and very crowded for the size of the hotel.

This hotel is #1 because of the up to date facility, attentive and friendly staff, and great beds. We travel yearly through this town and corridor from Texas to Colorado and glad we went with the reviews from trip advisor..again! We had a room that was situated facing the pool and lounge area in the atrium, and also had an exterior door to keep an eye on the vehicle. We were in town for the best fireworks show in NM and woke up to the hot air ballons taking off outside our balcony. We felt very safe and the exterior doors were secure from the public. Many video cams in all areas. The full breakfast left us ready for the road. Hope you consider the night here.

Raton, as a town to stop over in would be fine for ONE night only. The room had a great large bathroom- two sinks and a rain shower with two heads- huge. VERY strange configuration in that the sofa/sitting room -it didn't line up with TV viewing at all. The room was very dark with only one window to the indoor pool area-which let in no light, making the overall room appear dark. We booked and stayed in the 'suite' for around 143. -The ceilings are low, too, which probably didn't help. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. Btw, the restaurant in town (not the hotel), 'The Ice House' was way below average- greasy BBQ and brisket actually was a basket with Grease soaking the meat in the bottom-gross. The homemade pickles were really good-the only item we liked.. It may be the only place to eat, so beware and maybe try the hotel restaurant? . I got the stuffed sweet potato at The IceHouse and it was served luke warm with room temp pork on top- couldn't eat it.

Room Tip: Choose a suite if you stay here.

This is by far the best customer service I have had. The front desk staff was wonderful and so helpful. The restaurant staff is so great. The food is amazing. It is a older hotel, however they keep it updated and keep the charm. I will make it a point to come back that was and stay there. Love that place!!

Overall this was the best Best Western hotel I have stayed and experienced from all of the other Best Western hotels. There should be more of these in the west coast and not so far away. The indoor pool was excellent and exposure to the sun was none which we liked. Along with the restaurant and very nice personal who were there to assist you.
