What a beautiful and peaceful place. We stayed in the Rojas room and it was absolutely wonderful. I enjoyed having a little kitchenette since we had several items with us that needed to stay refrigerated.

The hosts are wonderful to visit with and the food was simply outstanding!

We will definitely be staying there in the future - hopefully on our one year anniversary!

We just stayed a couple of nights at the Adobe and Pines Inn, wished we could have stayed longer. The area was nice but the highlight was the Inn. We enjoyed the decor as well as the the inside and outside hot tub. It rained both evenings we were there which made the outside hot tub even more enjoyable. They served some excellent breakfasts and the hospitality was awesome. The owners could not have been nicer. It is wonderful to go where you really feel appreciated and they want your stay to be as special as can be. It was so very relaxing and I didn't want to leave. We will return to the Adobe and Pines Inn someday.

Adobe and Pines is THE place to stay in Taos! We loved every moment of our stay there. Can't believe we lucked out finding this place.
We stayed 3 nights, wish it was longer. Lovely terrritorial style architecture and southwest decor, beautiful grounds with big trees, a babbling creek, even a hammock to stretch out in. We stayed in the Puerto Turquese room, which is a separate older cottage with it's own private patio and hot tub. Very romantic.
The owners, Katherine and Louis, have spared no detail, and along with their staff provided outstanding service. Don't miss the incredible breakfasts - Louis was a chef in New York, and the delicious, beautifully presented breakfasts were our morning treat each day.
The owners were very helpful with recommendations for dining and activities around town too. Louis is an outdoors afficionado, and gave us a much-appreciated tip to try the disc golf course at neaby Sipapu Ski Resort.
The location of this B and B is just outside of town - sort of in its own little world, which we liked. It's on the opposite side of town from Tahoe Ski Valley, but worth the extra few minutes of driving - we'll be back in the winter for ski season!
One more suggestion - don't waste your money in town on those tourist trap stores - the B and B has it's own "store" on-site, with some of the prettiest, highest quality southwestern jewelry we saw in all of New Mexico!
Another big plus - they are dog-friendly. We brought our two dogs with us, and they had a great time too!

We were in Santa Fe last week and, on the spur of the moment, decided to spend a night in Taos. On a whim, we stopped by Adobe and Pines, where we'd spent our honeymoon ten years ago. We were lucky to find that Adobe and Pines had a room available -- and we were delighted to find that the Inn has new owners who have put their time, energy, and considerable hospitality experience into making Adobe and Pines an even more fabulous and luxurious place to stay! The owners, Kathy and Louis, gave us great suggestions for dining, shopping, and avoiding traffic on our way to our hike. Delicious breakfast...lovely building and grounds (the owners have made *many* improvements to the property)...convenient to everything that Taos has to offer, but away from the hustle and bustle in the center of Taos. Our room, Puerta Turquese (http://www.adobepines.com/rooms/turquese.htm), was quiet, charming, and very comfortable - it had two fireplaces, a kitchen, and a private hot tub, what more could you ask for? Our only regret is that we could only stay one night!

  • Liked — gorgeous property, unique rooms
  • Disliked — that we didn't have more time to spend there!

Oklahoma summers are horrible. Between the humidity and the mosquitos, it's almost unbearable. I decided to plan a trip to New Mexico to visit one of my good friends.. he suggested Adobe and Pines in Taos for our weekend Get Away.

WOW! This cozy Bed and Breakfast located in the Rancho de Taos is amazing. We were booked in Roja, and it was perfect. Our own personal Adobe. the bathroom is huge, with an enormous whirlpool tub, facing a fireplace.. heaven!!

Katherine and Louis are the perfect hosts.. funny, knowledgeable of the area, great conversations and knock out breakfasts!!

If you're looking for the perfect spot to rest those weary bones after a day of hiking, skiing or shopping in Taos, Adobe and Pines is it. Book when you can.. spots sell out fast!

The Adobe and Pines Inn is one of the nicest accomadations we've ever stayed. The hosts, Katherine and Louis are world class, yet let you ease right into the Inn they manage so you can't help to feel like you've found your home away from home. Katherine greeted us on arrival, and you would have sworn from her friendliness and attitude we were family members who've never visited the area before coming to stay for the weekend.

Location: On the South side of the Taos area. You will need a car for getting around, but you are not very far from Taos plaza and shopping, restaurants, or grocery stores and such (even a Walmart). It wasn't a long drive to go to Pilar where many of the whitewater rafting trips meet to enjoy the Rio Grande.

Property: Unbelievably beautiful. A lot of work has gone into the grounds, gardens, and areas. Our room, Puerta Blanca, was in the front and attached to owner's living quarters and behind us was the "petting zoo". Their chickens, turkeys, goats, and there are cats and dogs. Their facility is dog friendly, which was a plus for us. It was very quaint. You feel like you're on a hacienda -- buildings spread about surrounding courtyards, a small little brook, and the main meeting house (where breakfast is served).

They've really thought of many things -- extensive dvd library to borrow for the evenings. Excellent books and guides and their own collections and print outs of area Restaurant menus. Louis' Butterscotch & Berry pancakes were worth the wait on Sunday morning. They take effort to serve your breakfast on a plate surrounded by an artful display of freshly cut fruits. Both Louis and Katherine are not fussy, yet they waited on us and everyone there as though we were part of the family and with quick and prompt attentiveness.

Puerta Blanca is a large suite -- with two separate bedrooms, one bath, and a small kitchenette, and living area. The bonus was the private hot tub just outside the lovely little patio area surrounding a fire pit/hearth. Everything was perfectly clean. There was even cleaning service during the day when we were gone. Both rooms and the living room had their own TV's with DishNetwork. The decor is well designed, bright but warm colors, soft chairs, leather couch, lots of pillows, etc. very fitting for the region. Utensils, coffee maker, copper sink, stainless fridge, dishes, flatwear, hair dryer, games, hot tub towels, tolietries, etc., etc...they've really provided for the guest.

We were very happy with this place, but there were just two downsides. We were here during the warmer days and our unit has a swamp cooler, which was perfect -- when it wasn't humid. However, it did rain off and on especially through the early evenings into the night -- so we were left to keep the windows open to let the cooler air in. The property sits too close to the main highway in and out of the area (the road leading to Taos from Santa Fe). The cars and especially occassional tractor trailer truck kept us up at night and would waken us. It was such a shame b/c we loved everything else. Oh, yeah, and the hot water heater clanks in that unit. To be fair, I'm a light sleeper, though.

  • Liked — The hosts, the property, the hot tub, decor, and breakfasts
  • Disliked — Noise from highway
