“Reoccurring Event Every Year”

We have been going to what we call the "Ranch" since late 90s. It is a great place to rest and relax while at the some time it is centrally located to Los Alamos, Taos, and Santa Fe. It gives my family a chance to cool down with all the things kids are into.

I visited in May, and enjoyed everything! The lovely weather, the charming and comfortable casita, all the animals, and the beautiful, peaceful grounds made for the perfect relaxing get-away. There is an abundance of things to see and do in downtown Santa Fe, just a short drive away, as well as unique places to hike and sightsee. But my favorite part of my stay at Rancho Jacona was simply enjoying the variety of fragrant plants and trees throughout the property. If you are a nature lover, this is the place to come.

Our fourth stay was just as wonderful as always! Home away from home with a view of the Jemez Mountains...who could ask for more? Comfort, space, ambiance, privacy, relaxation, history, close to everything, yet far away from craziness. I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else while in the Los Alamos / Santa Fe area. Christmastime at Rancho Jacona was enchanting! All of the casitas were occupied, but you would never know. Quiet, quiet, quiet! Just you, the coyotes in the distances and stars as far as you can see. What a magical place in the Land of Enchantment!

Room Tip: I love the charm of the older casitas. Their website gives you a great overview of the casitas.

What a wonderful place! We have stayed at Rancho Jacona three times in the past three years and rented the Turtle House each time. The property is absolutely beautiful. My family loves visiting the burros and goats in the mornings. They love carrots and mango peels! We have always visited in March and enjoyed warm, sunny weather as well as 6" inches of snow one spring! The casitas are a home away from home, complete with full kitchens, W/D and an outdoor grill on the patio. The kiva fireplace is great for cool spring nights. Fresh, morning eggs are also available at times! The playground is nice for kids and I'm sure the pool is fun during the summer months! The staff respects their visitors’ privacy, but is readily available for assistance. Our washer/dryer combo went out during our stay in March 2011 (which they tend to do over time...). Jose came down immediately and was able to order and replace it by the next afternoon. We were able to use the washer/dryer in the casita right behind us during the down time. You can't ask for much more in customer service! It's location to Santa Fe is ideal as well as its proximity to other wonderful places in New Mexico.

We have been to Rancho Jacona many times since discovering it four years ago. Like others, we have been there as a couple, with family and friends, and hosted my mother's 80th birthday reunion there. We have never, ever had a bad experience there. We have been there in May, August, December, and will be back in the very near future. Each season offers something different. The peonies in May are fantastic and not to be missed! There is nothing more peaceful than Ranco Jacona under a layer of snow at Christmas.

The staff is exceptional, the assorted animal 'greeters' beyond friendly, and the views spectacular. We cannot recommend this piece of heaven enough! Which brings another problem....we are looking for a place to buy in the area and nothing compares to Rancho Jacona!!!

Room Tip: There is not a bad casita on this site. They are all excxellent!!!!

Big thumbs up in agreement with all the other positive reviews. Two of us just spent a lovely relaxed four days here in mid November. The folks were available during office hours, hospitable and helpful, but we really had lots of privacy, which was great.

The brilliant night skies were a treat, as was the ascorbically written and hugely informational (and apparently copywrited) guide to Rancho .Jacona. Great DVD collection. The burros were seriously overweight; if you visit please feed the rabbits and goats and merely scratch the ears and rumps of the burros.

With the good roads and fairly light traffic, this made a good base location for day trips to many parts of central northern NM. I hope to return with friends, family, and just us two again.

I have stayed at Rancho Jacona numerous times since they first opened. I have traveled with various friends, a family reunion, alone with the hubbie, with the family ....and each trip is more amazing than the last even when I think it can't be possible. The location is right off a main highway but feels like you are tucked away in nirvana. The drive to restaurants, shopping, activities, history, museums, parks scenery etc is all just a gorgeous scenic drive of a few minutes....and I never tire of the scenery. The land and houses all have a just wonderful home feeling, the animals will entice you to visit them, the grounds are gorgeous year round even with all the wintertime "hibernating" plants. I have traveled both in winter, summer and fall and each season has it's own beauty and wonder. The sun shines most everyday so you can take a walk in a tank top during the day and see a gentle snowfall at night. The innkeepers are the best and the staff are warm and helpful.

I have never smelled any animals unless of course you are right outside the goat/sheep area for a visit with them. The peacocks are a don't miss as they ascent to their safe place each night in the main courtyard area . Very interesting creatures with stories of their own to tell. The pool is like no other and surrounded by the beauty of nature, art sculptures and of course the sun. Wonderful river bed on the edge of the property which is great for walking, rock hunting and sunset watching!

The peaceful sounds and sights will lull you into another world. Probably the best location and facilities I have ever seen for family reunions. But then I think it is the best for any occasion as you can see! The only negative I have ever experienced is "you eventually have to leave". So no matter your reason for a adventure this fills the bill and more!!!! I have seen or stayed inside each of the houses and they all have something wonderful to offer.
Thank you Rancho Jacona for the most wonderful memories......each and every trip. Can't wait for the next trip!

Room Tip: Be sure and look at the layouts of each house in relation to the overall property and also for the f...
