The prices of cabins online is not what the desk clerk charged us. Their prices are higher. Beware! When making reservations be patient: they don't answer the phone until noon. In March they do not offer any of the activities on their website. Another case of misrepresentation! Our cabin was clean but the mattresses were so bad we slept on blow-up beds we had brought with us the second night of our stay. The women's shower house had lukewarm water and the heater blew out at the end of that cold shower on our first day. On the second day we showered in the men's shower house where the water was perfect but the wall heater didn't work at all. ALL of the cabins do NOT lock from the outside. We walked right into every single cabin on the property with no problem!!! The roads in I recommend you have a truck or SUV for. They are pretty rocky and hilly for a four door car such as mine. The camp is next to nothing, there are no vending machines or restaurants within 40 minutes. Seclusion is nice but geez can I get a soda or bag of chips? Would not recommend.

Me and my wife went on the 2nd week of september of 2012 and It was totaly amazing!!!! We decied to bring the tent and the price was not bad at all.10 dollars a night some might think that it is hight but for the area it's perfect due to the fact that they have private bathroom cabins that were super clean. After about a 15 min ride we arrived to out site and we where the only people in that part of the park there was hunters in RV's at the gate but it was peaceful. After unpacking and building a fire darkness set in and you could hear the cayote's off in the distancce which did not set well with the wife. Please note that this was her 1st time ever camping and was spooked by there howl. So that morning I went to the office and asked to see how much more it would be to get a cabin for the night and the lady let us move for free that night. The cabin was not bad a little small sleeping area that had lights and plugs for the phone and radio not bad. Was very close to the bathroom maybe 20-30 feet and a Huge fire pit that we were able to use even with the fire ban that was in place. On the final day I woke up to my wife screaming I get up and there was wild horses that was super friendly. We ended feeding them shreaded mini weats. As far as the camp it was Nice would be have been better if there was more people like friend and family to play games in the woods and fully take avantage of such a beautiful place. The Only small down side that I would give this place is the 2 1/2 mile dirt road ride, and since we left a few times to check out the town it was a little slow down but nothing to turn you away from this place.
Would recomend a trip to sun spot great views and observitory then the space musuem in Alamogardo.
