“Great place to stop overnight on a roadtrip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2011

We were on a roadtrip and needed a place to stop overnight. We were traveling with three kids and they wanted a hotel with a pool.
This hotel was convientantly located right off the freeway it had great service and the pool/jacuzzi was very clean.
We had a nice dinner at a family restaurant nearby called Kranberrys. We will definitely stop
here again on our next roadtrip.

This is a brand new, clean, modern Hampton. Still has that "new Hampton smell". Check-in was fast and friendly. The breakfast area was clean and well kept, and the hot breakfast was very good.

The property has an elevator. Rooms are of good Hampton quality, with the super comfy beds, flat-screen TV with good variety of channels, upscale bath with lots of amenities. The room included a microwave and fridge. The AC/Heater has a "constant fan" option, which eliminates annoying on/off clicks. The unit worked well and kept the room very comfortable. The night stand included an outlet in the lamp.

The work desk had outlets for plugging in the laptop, and wired Internet was available with the cable included. The Internet worked great in the evening when I arrived, but was VERY slow in the morning.

Other than the Internet issue (and the coke machine was a bit pricey at $2) this was a good new property at a great price. I got a great night's sleep, and that's worth a lot when traveling.

Lordsburg is a cool little railroad/freeway town in southwestern New Mexico. The main street in town is called Motel Drive, so that should tell you something (although most of the motels aren't on Motel Drive -- guess that's an artifact of the olden days). Mainly there is a truck stop at the freeway exits at either end of town, and a cluster of gas stations, motels (including this one), and restaurants at the center exit. Town looks old and tired, but very picturesque.

We loved this hotel. It opened in march 2010 and we stayed in December and everything still smelled brand new. It was a good days drive from orange county. Not a lot of eating choices, but the hotel was really nice. Free wireless Internet and breakfast. Rooms were clean and spacious. We had three people and a baby and had plenty of room including the pack n play. Would definitely stay again.

We walked in without reservations and there was no trouble getting a room. Let's face it, this town doesn't have much in the way of things to do. We had a nice stay and was directed to a local place for dinner that was fabulous.
Our room was spotless and the fitness room was updated and roomy. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Look, people (at least anyone I know) don't go to Lordsburg for "vacation." My sister and I stayed here on a cross-country moving trip. Lordsburg appeared to be a bit of a ghost town, but for the amount we paid and the appearance of other hotels in the area, the Hampton Inn is a gem. Breakfast was good, and the rooms were clean.

The only reason the "sleep quality" isn't a 5-star is because I could hear people stomping around at 2 in the morning. I would request a top floor to cut out the extraneous noise.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who finds himself or herself on a road trip on the I-10.

We stayed here on our way to Texas from California. This place is brand new. You can still smell the fresh paint in the rooms. The rooms are sparkling clean, the beds are very comfortable, wifi is free and fast, free HOT breakfast in the modern dining area downstairs, $89/night. The hotel is right next to the police/fire station. We had a minor snafu with the room but the rep at the front desk fixed it immediately. You can't get a better value in Lordsburg.

Driving from California to Texas and decided to stop in Lordsburg. Read the reviews for a few of the hotels and called around for pricing. Hampton Inn price came extremely close to price matching the lowest rate, so we decided to give it a try - especially since breakfast was included. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. From the initial phone calls on the road, to checking in, to the room, the gym, the breakfast room, and the service from EVERYONE we encountered. . . it was all five star. The hotel is immaculate. The rooms and bathroom were spotless and full of amenities. Free Wi-Fi in the rooms. A fridge. A microwave. Clean comfortable linens. A very comfortable bed. The standard multi-selection of varying fluffiness of pillows. Breakfast room was large and comfortable. The spread was nice. Nothing over the top, but convenient and especially worth it to prevent an additional stop before getting back on the road. The service was fabulous. Manuel Hernandez was the night manager on duty and was fantastic. First impressions mean a lot and he excelled at creating a great experience for us from the very first phone call. If you're traveling through and need a place to stop for the night - do not hesitate to stay at the Hampton Inn. I couldn't have been happier with this stop.
