We had stayed here back in '08 and it was fine. Four years later, this Super 8 has slipped into a terrible state of neglect and filth. First, there was the overwhelming stink of pesticide one encounters when stepping into the hallway. It was stronger when we entered the room. The toilet seat had pee stains. Then there were faded blood stains on the sheets, which had been washed so many times that they had tiny holes. My wife found short dark hairs on the sheets. We realized we couldn't leave because we had our toddler with us, it was midnight, and online it looked like everything was booked. Okay. In the morning, the hot water started running out 2 minutes into my wife's shower in the moldy tub. Irate after a freezing shower, she called the front desk. The clerk said that shouldn't be happening, but maybe everyone was taking a shower at the same time. (Because, you know, that almost never happens at a hotel.). He suggested we wait a while and try again. He sounded about 20 and probably couldn't do anything to make hot water magically appear, so she hung up without yelling at him. Bottom Line: Pay the extra $10 for a more reliable budget motel.

Traveling west through Las Cruces New Mexico and we needed a place to stay. Lots of choices in the area, but we chose the Super 8 due to the price and I needed to book 2 rooms. The area was quiet and seemed to be in an OK part of town. The Desk Clerk was very friendly and check in was a breeze. The rooms were very clean and came with a refrigerator, microwave oven and TV. The breakfast was average - cereal, danish, coffee, juice muffins and toast. Nothing fancy, but the room rate was reasonable ~ $55 and they give you a AAA discount.. We had a nice sleep. I would stay here again.
