“Excellent View of Farming in New Mexico”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

My husband was born and raised in a farm in the Midwest, so this was a must see. We could have spent two days looking, reading and learning about farming in New Mexico. Be sure and see the video clip about "Slim" the saddle maker and all of the live stock. All of the animals are very friendly and many of them will follow you along the fence line. Our favorite was the "old" long horn steer. He is 24 and was so nice to pose for several pictures. There is a lot of farm machinery and lots or art! Plan to spend several hours here if you are I interested in the history of farming.

“A must see attraction. ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014 via mobile

If you're visiting Las Cruces, NM I highly recommend seeing this museum. It is a 47 acre interactive museum that showcases the 3000 year history of New Mexico's farming and ranching heritage. Indoor displays of archaeology, culture and art. Outdoor displays of orchards, farming equipment, and farm animals including the original Mexican Corriente cattle. The Museum is open every day. Only $5 for adults and $2 for children. Very accessible but lots of walking. We were fortunate to catch a ride on a cart with a volunteer to tour the "South 20" the outdoor farm and ranch part. He provided more information about the animals and facilities. Well worth the time to visit the Museum.

“Nice clean and informative”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

May seem to be out of the way , it is worth your time . Traveling exhibits rotate thru permanent pieces. The story of farmers and ranchers and many things of the historical southwest.
Out buildings and Barns contain Long Horn Cattle to a milking station. a nice gift store and movie theater used for special occasions. A spectacular view of the Organ mountains , a perfect setting for many beautiful weddings held there.
Resonable entrence fee . One of the better Venues in Las Cruces.

“Nice Museum of Local History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

The New Mexico Farm and Ranch Museum provides some good attractions, well suited for visitors to New Mexico who are unfamiliar with life in these parts. My wife and I especially enjoyed the longhorn cattle on display, which give an example of the type of beef cattle used in the Old West. The museum of local history was also quite interesting and informative.
