“3 strikes and you're out”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

We've given LCCT more than one chance to live up to the reviews but we have never even been able to stay through a single performance. In the first place, if you aren't sitting on the 1st row, don't expect to hear anything. There is an occasional moment of brilliance and creativity here and there but the shows are typically cast with the same people over and over and many of "actors" are either too old or physically wrong for the shows we've seen. There is a lot of opportunity to see theater in Las Cruces, I'd check out all the other ones first.

“Their latest production is excellent.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

To end their 50th year celebration, LCCT is putting on the musical, "The Best Little --house in Texas". The singing and dancing are great. The costumes fit the setting. The stage decoration is minimal -- they flashed up pictures on the screen befitting the setting and sometimes they rolled out a Victorian settee. The leads were great. The fellow who played the Governor of Texas has a small part, with one song, but he was great. The theater was as crowded as I've ever seen it. There were many older people, some from an assisted living place. You could tell because their bus was parked outside. It was a bit warm inside because there doesn't seem to be air conditioning, but the fans were on. A plus is that you can now pay by credit card. The restroom facilities are minimal. There is just room for one person at a time in both the women's and the men's restrooms, so there is often a line. There are free refreshments -- cookies, coffee, and soda -- at intermission, but there is a jar where you can donate money to cover the cost.

“A Lot of Spirit”

This is a community theatre in a small community, and they make a heroic effort with what they've got. Just don't come expecting Broadway.

“Great Shows From Local Actors/Directors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

My wife and I love taking in plays at the LCCT, the cast is always lively and the choices of plays are always entertaining. Gala nights offer a meal after the show and a chance to talk with the performers.
