“Breathtaking views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

This was my first time in New Mexico and my first hike. It was absolutely amazing. The trail wasn't to strenuous and the views were breathtaking. Very easy to find.

“Beautiful and easy to get to!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014 via mobile

I was looking for an easy-ish hike in the Las Cruces area and found this in hiking book. On a recent Sat. We decided to head there from Elephant Butte and we were glad we did.
Park personnel provide all the info needed for your hike and send you on your way. From the beginning it was beautiful...you get right up into the Organ Mts and the ruins are a wonderful piece of history.
Bring lots of water and sunscreen and enjoy the views down to the Mesilla Valley from the top.

“Wonderful views!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

This hike provides wonderful views of the area and can be challenging or easy depending on the path you take. It seems removed from Las Cruces but is really not that far out. If you're there in the spring the cactus are blooming and it is gorgeous. Remember to take water, there are no nearby convenience stores.

“Gorgeous views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

While we didn't go on any hikes, we did walk around. Marvelous views of the Organ Mountains - every way you turn, there's a different perspective. Easy drive up University Ave, which turns into Dripping Springs Road. There is a short section of the road that is unpaved. The Park personnel were very helpful. Interesting information on the rattlesnakes! Great views of the Mesilla Valley. There is a fee for hiking, but not for just walking around.

“Don't expect to see dripping springs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2014

This is a great place to get a nice look at the Organ Mountains. It is an easy drive and there is a visitor's center with lots of information. It is federally run, so you can use your America the Beautiful pass or other federal parks pass. The employees are very friendly and can offer advice to you on how best to spend your time. I recommend visiting the sanatorium and the rock cliff just past it. The views are great and it is a fairly easy hike. Be sure to take water, especially on a hot day. For the most part, the trail is lined with gravel. It is a pretty easy hike, even for beginners or for someone with no experience.
