“Chili rellanos for lunch mmmmm!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013 via mobile

Stopped on our way back from Denver. Had lunch. We had the chili rellanos and enjoyed them plus we got free chocolate cake for dessert. Service was friendly and fast. We got there at 11:15 am and only one other table but was shortly filled with locals. Would stop here again. Extra bonus was buying chili garlands, onions, pecans, fresh chili powder and flakes next door.

“Great hospitality, value, service, food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013 via mobile

Robby greeted and seated, made recommendations (essential for gringo in group, so heat minimized). Green chili cheeseburgers good, with just the right "kick". Relleno platter excellent, smothered burrito too good for mere words! Becky and Robby friendly and helpful. Mother and son could be mistaken for siblings (and often are!) Salsa and chips starter- don't taste until you have your beverage!

“Worth a visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Lovely people, homemade food. It is a small friendly family run cafe. We didn't look at the menu and just ordered the special of the day, enchiladas. I explained we hadn't ever tried green or red chili sauce the area is noted for, and so we were given "Christmas", red and green sauces. Both delicious. The owner/waitress could not have been nicer. As we understand it, her mother does the cooking and she and her son run the front of the cafe. We will definitely go back if we ever find ourselves in the area again.

“Delicious Mexican Food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

Found this place on Trip Advisor - We loved this tiny little diner so much, we drove out of our way on the way to Tucson to eat there again! I had a delicious chili relleno plate! Fresh, homemade, just yummy! And it came with a Hatch hot sauce on the side (in a bottle) that was soooo tasty! The locals sure love it too! Not to be missed.

“Good food & prices”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

We stopped here on a trip from Taos to Tucson. The food is good, but not spectacular. I love Mexican food; when we eat out it's almost always Mexican, so we've eaten a lot of great Mexican food over the years. Valley Cafe is average. Green chile burgers were good, nachos were average, chile relleno was ok, flautas were ok. Green salsa is HOT, but won't make you breathe fire. Waitress was nice, place is very small but cozy. Walls are fun to read. It's a solid place to eat as I don't think there's anything bad and the staff is very accommodating.
