My husband and I found Sparky's on TA during a recent trip to New Mexico. Being a picky eater, I am skeptical about small town diners, but with so many great reviews, we decided to give Sparky's a try. We drove up just five minutes before the 7 pm closing, but Sparky's was still going strong. Greeted by the friendly staff, we placed our order for the famous green chili cheeseburger and fries. My husband picked up a piece of homemade apple pie and a 1/2 lb of brisket bbq "for breakfast". We settled down to the only table left open in the small dining room. As we waited for our order, we couldn't resist snacking on the brisket. My oh my!! The brisket ranks up with the best of any bbq that I've ever eaten. A very sweet sauce is served with the bbq, but the meat stands up on it's own, so don't bother with the sauce. Our burgers came and they looked delicious - messy, falling out of the bun. My husband took one bite and said, "this is the best hamburger that I've ever eaten". And he's eaten a lot of hamburgers. That should say it all. Don't miss a chance to eat at Sparky's!!
