“Not as good as expected; security/maintainance issues”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2007

After we checked in, we were not able to open our door to our room, though our keycards worked. We called the front desk and were told to hold the door handle up (which we had already tried). On our fifth or so attempt, we were finally able to open the door, but we determined that the lock was busted and requested a room change. Got a new room with no problem, but the next day, we discovered that our new keycards apparently had been programmed for only one night (and we were staying four nights). We got them reprogrammed but were a bit shocked that the desk clerk, a different clerk from the previous day, didn't ask for our names or ID -- a security oversight, in our view.
We also had to leave housekeeping a note requesting new soaps and shampoos, which were not automatically replenished during our stay, though it was obvious that we were nearly out of both halfway during our stay.
The Region Inn was clean and comfortable, but if we stay in Farmington again, we would check out one of the other nearby chain hotels.

Though it's priced higher than other nearby motels, the Region Inn in Farmington delivers superior value and service. The wi-fi Internet access is strong and steady. The pool and public areas are clean and welcoming. The extended continental breakfast includes make-your-own waffles. The front desk staff are pleasant and efficient. The decor inside the room evinces your typical motel style, but all rooms are exceptionally well kept. We were happy with what we paid here ($49+tax for a non-smoking king room).

Farmington is not the most pleasant place to stay, but this motel makes it a lot more bearable.

We stayed here for 1 night, getting an AAA rate that was way below what the other hotels in town were charging. The rooms were basic motel rooms, large and clean; good, powerful shower. We had a first-floor room with a window overlooking the parking lot, and we ran the fan to keep outside noise at bay.

The employees were cheerful. The pool and pool area were very nice, with lots of cushoined lounge chairs and a huge hot tub. There is a full-service restaurant, Tequilas, with outdoor covered seating, but we didn't eat there. The continental breakfast included cereal, cook-you-own Belgian waffles, bagels and toast, juice and coffee (no fruit).

The Region Inn is close to several other hotels and the Riverwalk along the Animas River. Definitely take a walk along the river if you have the time; it's lovely.

Farmington was not our destination, but just a stop on the way through. We were just looking for a basic room.

This is a fairly new hotel, and the rooms were large and clean. The pool, while small, was very nice as well. There is a mexican restaurant attached to the hotel, and the food there is excellent. The staff was friendly and informative.

This would be an excellent stop for businessmen or tourists alike. I would recommend it highly.

We stayed one night in this hotel which was a really good choice.
Even without a discount-coupon this is a cheap hotel.
We had a nice room near the main-road but we slept very well.
Nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. We visited a all-you-can-eat chinese restaurant.

Also nice is the free use of the internet pc in the lobby!

Stayed here for 1 night in November '04 found it very good value (when compared to other similar rooms offered by other lodgings in area),along with a 'switched on' staff who had time for a chat and a joke.

Room was spacious, comfortable with all amenities , good bathroom, quiet and peaceful.

We enjoyed the "4 Corners " area, the 2nd best in all our stay in New Mexico and intend to explore better, when we return in 2006.We
definitely, (on this experiance) intend to use this hotel as a base for further exploration.

No breakfast was served which we discovered is a very American experiance in most Hotels/Motels and when added onto cost of stay, puts a truer reflection of cost of lodging experiance, although it does allow one to try the rather quaint dining experiance in local cafes/
restaurants.

all in all ,a very good recommendation!

Great hotel, courteous staff and good prices. Even has a microwave by the ice machine. It doesn't serve a free breakfast but there are plenty of restaurants nearby.
