“Delightful surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

I was delightfully surprised by the marketplace breakfast. Hotel was clean, well looked after and bustling in the morning hours. More than I ever expected for the price we paid. Only down side was the small refrigerator in our room looked to be leftover, it was clean but well used.

About an hour and 20 minutes from Four Corners, this hotel served our needs for a short one night stay. The rooms were clean and the staff were very accommodating to our request for a late check out due to my husband running a marathon early in the morning the day of our check out. I'm sure this was a common request as well given most of the guests that night were marathoners and they accommodated us with no problem. Reasonable rate, free parking and free wifi suited our needs for this short stay.

This place was great! The room was beautifully clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. In fact, we stayed here twice. Once November 2012, and once more in Mar. 2013. I'd stay here anytime I find myself in Farmington. The proximity to Chaco Canyon was the initial reason for our choice. On our second visit we discovered the bar inside the hotel. The bartender hold an award for the best margarita, and trust me...she deserves that award! They are delicious!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on an upper floor in the back of the hotel overlooking the river.

We love this hotel. The service is great. Staff is very friendly. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Farmington. The "extra mile" this visit was this: we checked out and went to the airport nearby. We turned in our rental car. Then, my husband realized he'd forgotten his cell phone in our room. We had no way of going back to the hotel to get it. We called the front desk and told them our problem. They went to the room, got the cell phone, and brought it to us at the airport before we had to board our flight.

Now, THAT is service!!!!!

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the river

Stayed here while on business. The outside of the hotel very appealing with it's southwest architecture, the lobby and bar clean and cozy but the rooms are a little outdated. The furniture seems cheap. The surrounding neighborhood is not the best, however, it is a 5 minute drive to Farmington's down town. Some of the rooms have a balcony and the balcony seemed dirty with lots of pigeon poop.

I was not sure about wanting to stay in Farmington. I knew I could not make it from Moab, UT to Santa Fe, NM in one day. Before leaving on this trip I did considerable research to locate hotels that were reachable between destinations. The Courtyard was a good hotel with great spacious accommodations.

Farmington was the logical stop on our way from Mesa Verde, CO, to Chaco Culture National Historical Park. There were quite a few lodging choices and we are happy we chose Courtyard by Marriot. The staff was friendly and helpful. The common areas near the lobby look newly renovated and inviting. Since getting on the road early in the morning was a priority, the Starbucks coffee bar and healthy breakfast choices available in the Bistro were the best. Our room was a comfortable, clean, and quiet standard king. The wireless Internet service was easy to access. While I’m glad hotels are meeting the eco light bulb standards, some bathrooms and grooming areas simply don’t have enough light; that was the case with our bathroom sink area at this Courtyard by Marriot.
