“An unexpected pleasure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel.
We were given the wine of the day/week/month(?) to sample on arrival which was a good welcome.
We find normal US portions too much & chose to share a selection of artisan cheeses between us (& chocolate - odd but good). This came with three wines to taste which worked very well. Nice bread.
Then we shared a dessert with more wine. Sounds very boozie but the quantities were small - NOT a criticism!
The staff were attentive & helpful & we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere & people watching. Although it was mid-week, the restaurant was full with every variety & age of customer, all having a really good time together. Noisy in a happy way.
Usually in the USA we prefer restaurants that are more European in style but this was an exception. A good evening.

“Could have been better.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

I have been here several times, and on those occasions the services has been outstanding, but most of my experience is ordering out. This time I made sure we had reservations since you never know what the crowd will be like on Saturday evening. The place was not busy at all. We got our order in quickly and withing 15 minutes got our food. My husband had ordered steak fries instead of mashed potatoes with his steak but did not get them when the food was served. He didn't wait for the fries and did eat the mashed potatoes and the waitress brought them when he was done, saying they never got them started until she reminded them again. She seemed a little busy and only saw her a few times. The food was not great but it was satisfying. If they had been busier I would have overlooked some of these little things, but they weren't, so I'm chalking it up to "not my night to eat at St. Clairs!" Otherwise the food I order out is always great as well as the service... If you like green chili, order the NM chili chicken pasta, it is fantastic...

“Farmington's Finest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012 via mobile

St. Clair's is a must when we visit family in Farmington. This trip we were fortunate to have an exceptional waitress, Megan. She's friendly, attentive and efficient! I was a bit disappointed when I found out they were out of the pot pie, which is very good, but the pork chop was a nice substitute. The other two in our party had the rib eye steak and prime rib, both of which were excellent. We had the St. Clair Reserve Merlot and topped off the meal by sharing the bread pudding, which was tasty and plenty for three people.

“Great food, atmosphere, Wine and reasonable price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

Saw this restaurant when coming into Farmingtonm, New Mexico as enjoy wine bistros and seemed like most of the other restaurants were "chain type" with little appeal. Went after looking at Trip advisor reviews and very much enjoyed our experience. St. Clair produces quite a variety of wines and offer them at reasonable bottle prices at the restaurant (by the glass prices not such a value). Menu is varied and includes 1/2 portions which were more than ample. Restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and includes a shop that has a variety of interesting "wine" accessories. Our waiter, Chris was very efficient, knowledegeable about menu selections and the wine St. Clair produced. We both had pasta dishes which were very tasty- mine had "hatch" chiles which added a little spice to it but was not overly hot.
The only negative was it seemed they had a lot of tables when we went in but we had to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated. While this gave us time to shop, it seemed a bit odd but perhaps they have to manage customers based on servers there or kitchen ability. Food was delivered quickly and service from Chris excellent! Felt for what you got was a very good value. If passing through Framington again would definitely go to this restaurant!

“Very pleasant experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

We went there based on the Trip Advisor reviews after a long day driving from Santa Fe through Chaco Canyon. We almost walked out based on the noise level. It was Saturday night and they had a live jazz combo complete with drums. For those who like jazz and don’t mind a lot of noise, no problem; but we prefer quieter dining. They did finally seat us in a separate room; we were alone at first but the room eventually filled up. Once that problem was solved, we had a very pleasant experience: good food, wine, service, and ambience. Unfortunately, the outdoor area was closed as a result of rain.
