“Great food when the locals fill the place.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

We love this place. We had been before but not in a long time. It has not changed a bit. The food is great. On a Saturday night arrive early or you will be in line a while. The grilled shrimp is the best I have ever eaten.

“Best Meal of the Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

My husband had eaten here numerous times and was excited to take me here, and after our meal, I understand why. Reasonably priced, fresh, and delicious. Definitely more Mexican than New Mexican. The red and green sauces were flavorful without obliterating your taste buds. The service was friendly and prompt. My new favorite restaurant in Taos!

“Outstanding Mexican Fare and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

One of the best Mexico food restaurants we have visited. This is a walk-up and order place and our orders (for eight people) were brought to our table within minutes of being placed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we main a point of walking back to the counter and leaving tips in the box.

“Great New Mexican food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Huge portions and large menu. We had a hard time deciding what to order it all sounded and looked (photos provided on menu) so good. The 3 of us had some huge oyster's, great chile relleno's, enchilada's and a red snapper dish. The place is very average in appearance and not fancy by any means. Pricing is fair. We will return given the next opportunity!

“Super quick service, pretty good food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

Historically I have eaten the Burrito Grande with red chili. The vegetarian version isn't especially good, and their chili rellenos aren't up to snuff either. However, overall the food is good, and not too greasy. They often have lunch specials, which makes their already affordable food even cheaper. They have jalapeno chilis in a little bin that you can just get a couple with your food if you want. The sign says they're very hot, but they're inconsistent: sometimes super hot, sometimes actually fairly mild. I usually get one to test the batch, and if they're edible, get a couple more. They make most meals better. Overall a reasonably priced place to get a quick bite to eat, but don't expect much ambiance.
