“Only if you can walk a long way.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

We discovered the visitors center opened at 10 AM but at 10:30 doors were locked no one around. Although there were lots of NM cars in the lot. Do not know where everyone was. Not much to drive through, park and walk. My husband was not able to climb the hills because of hip surgery recovery, But if you enjoy hiking and walking you will love it.

“This place Rocks!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Its like driving around a bunch of skyscrapers made of rock. the campsites are cut into the landscape perfectly. Even if you are just driving by, its well worth the time to take a look.

“Crystal Clean Air - Incredible Night Sky”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

In the middle of a place very close to nowhere, just south of somewhere, and a little past over there, is a flat and I mean flat plain with a bit of scrub and other desert plant or three and two lane roads that go on and on and on with an acute scarcity of touches of civilization lies City of Rocks State Park. if you go here it is because you are really lost, or you specifically chose this park. Now that can be a real advantage if you want to get away from it all and camp where the stars are blazing from horizon to horizon. The campsites are among the beautiful outcroppings of City of Rocks. There are also electrical hook up for the RV types and group areas for those big family parties, or what ever your group is! Bring everything you need as the nearest anything is about 30 plus miles. This park is a very interesting geological phenomenon (I can't believe it. I spelled that correct without a spell check)
Oh yes, one more thing, in the middle of no where and due to the flatness, clear air and tall towers there is 4g with data! - I suggest you have a solar charger - you can have the best of the wild west and internet too!
There are LOTS of restrooms scattered about the park.
On second thought, just turn it off and enjoy the clean air and brilliant blue daytime sky and jet black night time sky!

“great relaxing weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

We live nearby and love to spend a relaxing weekend at the City of Rocks. The kids (and adults) never tire of exploring the endless mazes and hiding places in the rocks. This time of year, there are hundreds of varieties of grasses and wildflowers blooming, and the temperature is perfect. Also, the Faywood Hot Springs has reopened next door, which just adds to the relaxing weekend!

“City Of Rocks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

It was like being in a giant maze of rocks. I am a hiker and I like this as much as hiking on my favorite trails. Will definitey go back again when the weather cools down a little bit.
