“Charming little Hampton Inn with wonderful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2012

I enjoyed my stay at the Clovis Hampton Inn and would stay again, but it's not for everybody. First the good - outstanding staff, clean and comfortable room, nice lobby, decent breakfast, indoor pool that kids will love and a tiny exercise room with a bike, treadmill and stair-master. It's located just outside of town on your basic commercial road that every town has. The only drawback is it's also across the street from the trains. I'm a heavy sleeper, so they didn't bother me, but others in the group heard the train every 30 minutes, in spite of the complimentary ear plugs in the bathroom. Bottom line: although it's a wonderful property, it might not be for you if you don't sleep soundly.

Room Tip: Rooms as far away from Mabry as possible.

Very good hotel that serves hot breakfast and has the amenities enjoyed at most Hampton Inns; however, if you are a lite sleeper you are going to hear the trains. Best bet is to find a hotel on Prince Street away from the never ending train horns and rumble.

I booked my room through hotels.com for about 70.00. The room is clean and big. Bed is comfy, bathroom is nice. The staff was very nice. The breakfast was good and bigger than most hotels breakfasts. Overall a very well kept hotel.

Having stayed at many Hampton Inns this one was a disappointment. Firstly there is the train noise which you probably cannot avoid in Clovis. The hotel is close to a junction and so there is a not just the train noise but a whistle several times an hour all night. The hotel did not offer the ear plugs others have commented on they would have been helpful. The hotel is an older Hampton and is showing its age and lack of care, eg a broken light fitting in the room, the shower rail partly out of the wall. Breakfast wasn't up to par - watered down orange juice, porridge (oat meat) was solid and not even the staff could get a waffle out of the waffle machine.

Overall if you have to stop in Clovis this is an ok place if it is cheap but I am sure there must be better hotels to stay. DO get the ear plugs.

Room Tip: All rooms have train noise, probably the ground (1st) floor, odd numbered rooms furthest from the ro...

My father and I were driving from TX to CO. We decided half way point was Clovis, NM. All of the hotels in Clovis are along the train. I know many people comment on it. Honestly, I had ear plugs and didn't hear them at all. This Hampton Inn actually provides ear plugs for their guest. The hotel is extremely clean. It has a pool, workout room, a desk top computer available for guest use, free WiFi, and a warm extended breakfast. The bathroom had plenty of fresh towel and a granted counter top. Beds have white comforter and are extremely comfortable. Clean is the main word that comes to my mind when I think of the hotel.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It is like most Hampton Inns but after a long day of driving it hit the spot. If we are back in the area we will for sure be staying here again.

First off, let me say I have slept through a hurricane. Really. Also, I grew up with train tracks in my back yard. I had no issues with the noise. :)

You can tell the staff here goes above and beyond to compensate for their location (which is not the staffs' fault btw). My room was very clean as were the common areas. The breakfast was well stocked and ready before 6 which was appreciated. I was very pleased overall with my stay and would def stay here again.

We had a wedding to attend in the area and stayed at the Hampton Inn. The staff were all friendly and engaging. The breakfast was quite ample with a lot of options (yogurt, fruit, cereal, pastries, eggs).

Accommodations were very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed staying there and would do it again in a heartbeat.
