This is one of the nicer Hampton Inns I've stayed in. I was not expecting much, since Clovis is a small town and the hotel is at the end of a very ugly commercial strip. But the room was nicely furnished and the bed had a thick comforter--a welcome change from the horrible flimsy blankets usually found in hotels in this price range. It was a very cold and snowy night, so the comforter was a big plus. I find that a lot of hotel rooms just don't make you feel at ease, and you're almost afraid to pull back the bedcovers to see what's under there. This place had a nice homey feel to it. Just proves you can't judge a place from its location.

We walked in to the Hampton Inn, having checked out of the Rodeway in disgust before unpacking. It's a great overnight stay - very clean, very friendly staff, the usual excellent Hampton Inn bedding and bathroom. Run of the mill pool. Good free breakfast. You can hear the trains, but they provided earplugs and those trains run alongside hotel strips in small towns all over Texas and the SouthWest - certainly along side every hotel In Clovis.

My room was huge, with amenities including a refrigerator and microwave, a couch, and a lap desk. The staff was very friendly. There was a hot breakfast included, it was ok but nothing special. One warning, the hotel is located across the highway from a very busy set of train tracks. I was warned by the desk clerk when I checked in, and they provided ear plugs in the room. The trains blow their horns as they go through town, so it can be a little noisy if you aren't prepared. I would stay here again - it is a great stopping point between Colorado and Austin.

This is a nice place! The double-bed room was spacious, clean, and modern; bathroom was large; breakfast was ok for a free-continental meal. Be sure to have dinner at Leal's for good authentic mexican food!
The local train depo woke me up a few times at night. I took a jog around the nearby golf course and city park. I'll stay here again...
