The history of El Santuario is amazing. The little church is tucked away off of the main roads in New Mexico. While you drive along and enter the area of Chimayo you soon understand why so many others love the area and treasure it.

The church is located in a cluster of small buildings that provide items for sale to the tourists. Things can get busy at times when several tour buses show up. Parking has become a problem over the years however they have made improvements by adding ample space just east of the church.

The Santuario is too amazing for words, and the only way you can appreciate it is to visit the area and go inside. I strongly advise that you google search the church history to provide a better understanding before your visit.

I know of several documented modern day miracles that have occurred related to this Santuario that help to give me some understanding of the special healing powers for those who have the faith.
