“Nice and quiet. Outdoor dinning with a wonderful view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2012

Amazing food with a gourmet native american flair fused into classic offerings. Beautiful presentation and friendly service. This is an experience you have got to try. It's a little pricey, but well worth it. Try the tapas menu to save a little money if you have to, but everything is great

“Almost perfect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2012

We booked a table for two at the Corn Maiden at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort in Bernalillo, NM, for our forty third anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised. The main dining room is very attractive and inviting. It is too bad that the architect chose to make the windows small with dividers that block the spectacular view of the Sandia and the bosque. We enjoyed the general ambiance and we did have dessert on the terrace where the view is uninterrupted.
The server made good suggestions and we thought the rotisserie Thurs. special was terrific and a good value. We shared the duck, chorizzo, and chicken skewer and had sides of green chili potatos augratin and a terrific chopped salad. The wines that were recommended were excellent. The restaurant wasn't busy and our only complaint was that we didn't have time to enjoy our apperatif before the salad was served. Fast service is considered a good thing in American restaurants, but it doesn't give diners enough time to savor every course. At the Corn Maiden, every course from the internesting local tapenade amuse bouch to the desert deserved savoring!

“Top chef worthy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

I was here at conference (at hotel). Was delighted to discover this great gem in the desert. The group before us looked at menu and walked away because of the expensive prices of entrees. We decided to have the "tapas". Three of us ordered three tapa plates apiece and some drinks. Bill came to $30 apiece and it was a . fiest! We had hard time finishing generous servings.
My office is around the corner from Brian Voltagio's "Volt" (top chef) restaurant and this place was in the same league. Thanks for the memories. Like the mile high location... it was a spiritual high.

“Go for the view, the wine and the dessert!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2012 via mobile

Red Chile Cheesecake. Try it! Excellent!

During a recent stay at Tamaya I had dinner at The Corn Maiden and had the rotisserie dinner with chorizo (very spicy and lean), chicken and beef. This is a lot of food. It is served with a trio of condiments: mole, napalito salsa and peach salsa. These are very good. The salmon special was well prepared and tasty. The service is good as always. Go for the view, the wine and the dessert!

“This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

The food is fresh, not overcooked or over-salted (which seems to be an issue with some diners who have reviewed the restaurant.) As a "foodie", i want to taste the quality of the food, not the seasonings or accoutrements.

I have eaten at the Corn Maiden about five times over the past several years. I find it consistently good, with local, quality ingredients, reflecting the theme of Native Southwestern cuisine (by this I mean Native American, not Spanish). It is one of the only places in the area which does not season everything with red or green chile - a relief!

The recent Mother's Day brunch was excellent. my only caveat was that the desserts were not up to the usual level. The buffet was magnificent, especially the coffee-rubbed prime rib, the seafood bar, and the quinoa/barley and geen chile mac and cheese sides. Greens were, as always, fresh and not overcooked
