“Would not be my first choice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

The check in process was very poor at best, the first lady to help us was lacking communication skills and seemed like she could care less to help us. They could not find our reservation at first and then it took 3 tries to get our room correct. We had reserved a beach front and they tried to pawn off some of the cheaper rooms first. When we finally got our room it was nice and clean. For the beds they just push two twins together to form a king, but we kept them separate, its nice to get freaky in one bed then sleep in separate beds for a good sleep. The breakfast buffet was weak, save your money and head into town or Alanis' coffee shop. The pool was nice. Beach was great, although some garbage washed up the last two days.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

We stayed here for 4 nights in early February, and we struggled with finding availability. We picked resort last minute, and it turned out to be nice. The location is walking distance to restaurants and the night market (not so great). I found the best food on the beach was at the other end of Long beach, so take the long walk to find out for yourself (around 20 min). There are many larger hotels beside this one, so things were a little more expensive on this end.

The pool had too much chlorine, but was nice with a swim up bar. Also, because of the more forested property, mosquito's and gecko's were a little annoying.

Overall the rooms were clean and spacious. Their king beds were just two singles pushed together, so you need to avoid the crack through out the night... but this no different than other hotel here. Good shower with consistent heat, and nice patios on our Garden View Bungalow.

I found this hotel better value than its neighbors in the area.

Room Tip: take a bungalow here, no point coming all this way and not being close to the beach... and they are...

Nice and quiet beach area, nice, big apartments, excellent breakfast, excellent coffee but could be warm(er), polite and helpful staff, short walk to "city center". Hotel area very quiet in mid january.

We stayed here for 4 nights over New Year having read the iffy reviews but accommodation on the island was very busy and we had little choice. Sadly those reviews were borne out. Few of the client facing staff spoke any English and even those who did spoke very very little and what we expected from customer service in a 4 star hotel was virtually non-existent. Cleanliness was poor, we suffered from noisy air conditioning and disappointing breakfasts but overall our concern was at the lack of proper customer service. We did eventually have a meeting with the manager to voice our specific concerns as well as our more general concerns and a small price adjustment was made. However on no basis should this be allowed to pass as a 4 star resort and I would certainly not recommend it. Such a shame because it was in a great location, we loved the island and everywhere else we went.

Phu Quoc is rapidly changing......the national park has litter at the entrance but the night market is still a lot of fun. The snorkelling trip which you can take from the south of the Island is really nice not in the least because on the way overthere you can buy fresh fish from small boats and local fishermen. The Blue Lagoon resort is quite okay. I would not say 4 stars but the pool is nice and the food decent. The housing is nothing fancy but definately sufficient. Bedding is good and house is clean. Shower gets the whole bathroom wet but that is about the worst we have to say........ The beach is clean although it can be rough, especially in the first part of the year.

We stayed here for 4 nights in October so it was quiet and the ocean was a bit choppy but you could still swim in it. We had a half duplex cabin near the beach and it was clean and comfortable but the furnishings were tired and the air conditioning rattled. I liked the fact that this resort is right on the beach and you can walk to some very good restaurants from here. Breakfast was fine if not spectacular. The staff were friendly and helpful and literally ran to help when we had a problem with our door lock on our last day. The pool is good. We spent a lot of time there and had it pretty much to ourselves.

Room Tip: We stayed near the beach in a cottage and I liked it. You might want to check the air conditioning u...

The location is ok. The service there is none, staff do not understand English and not helpful at all, everywhere we have stayed in Vietnam has been exceptional but here has really disappointed. The room has luke warm showers, the floor is sandy and not been swept, the bed is comfortable. The breakfast is poor and had to ask for more bread everything seemed to have been sitting there for hours, the staff are more interested in playing on their mobile phones than serving, we won't be leaving a tip. This place is the most expensive place we have stayed in Vietnam. Best thing about this place is the beach it's beautiful.
