“Great facilities - not so good service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

We stayed here for three nights and were very disappointed with the level of service by staff. Given the wonderful hospitality in most places in Vietnam, we were surprised how lacking the quality of service was. It was low season but the reception staff did appear to have a very basic level of training. This was typical of all the service we received. There are fabulous facilities at this hotel but it is hard to find staff willing to assist you particularly at the beautiful pool, pool bar and beach bar. The private beach was strewn with litter as were the waves as they came in. I would not return to this hotel if I went back to Phu Quoc

We stayed here for four nights. We were collected from the new Phu Quoc International Airport in the hotel's mini-bus, this is a free service, brilliant. The reception area is a bit dated and in need of some TLC, but who spends their holiday in reception?! Our room was a small villa with a balcony right next to the pool and a few metres from the beach - perfect. It wasn't fancy by any stretch, but clean and serviced well every day. The pool area is vast and for the whole four days we were basically the only people there. There are sun loungers on the beach and there are no hawkers or anyone else to hassle you if that's where you prefer to relax. We walked along the beach for lunch, which was lovely. The hotel is well placed, a couple of minutes walk will get you to good restaurants and bars that are very cheap. All in all it's a good place to stay and you will certainly feel as if you've had a holiday.

We stayed at Blue Laggoon for a week. We had not booked transfers when we arrived at the airport but as soon as the sasco taxi rep knew we were booked into the hotel, we were ushered into the cab for a free ride!

We arrived at the hotel, reception is drab, dated and overfilled with badly covered stained couches. The staff could not have been less interested to see us (a common theme thorough out stay with a only a couple of exceptions)... We checked in.. Were taken to our room, perfect spot between pool & beach!

We tried the restaurant - okay but the extra steps to one of the restaurants across the road will see you spend less, not have ur drinks watered down and enjoy better food! The staff are also much more attentive/friendly/helpful!!

With all the reports regarding the pool - we were concerned. We braved it anyway - it's not a fancy pool by any means but there were no issues for us. We liked the pool. It's not tiled, maybe vinyl or something similar so there's some parts where it's crinkled at the bottom but not an issue.

We had a standard room with a porch. Rooms are a bit dated but totally fine! Comfortable, clean, flat screen tv, good aircon. There's lots of them so ask for near the beach if not paying extra for beach front!

The beach is beautiful at the hotel. Coconut palms all along so plenty of shade for those who prefer it, umbrellas, heaps of sun lounges! Perfect!! (For true postcard beach make sure you go to Sao beach too).

Overall - the staff in the restaurant and reception are rude, unhelpful and clearly have no idea what 'hospitality' means (with exception of one of the girls in the restaurant). The cleaners, gardeners, security and the bell boys/drivers are lovely! Blue Laggoon is on a nice stretch of beach, is a 10 minute walk to the night market in town for delicious dinners and shopping for cheaps pearls. It has nice gardens, decent pool, decent rooms and I would reccommend it. Phu Quoc will one day be a Koh Samui/phuket but for now - less competition - less bang for your buck accom wise. In terms of peace, relaxation and beautiful (almost) tout free beaches?? Phu quoc wins hands down!

So relaxing ,especially in the evening when is sunset on the beach! From the sea view rooms the view is on a beach is wonderful and romantic! All property is fully loaded with the palm trees, flowers and many more! Huge garden is very comfortable during the hot days, because of the shadows! And if You will read review from Yauk..... do not trust it! When You booked a garden view room.... of course You will not have sea view!!!!!!! That is simple!!!!!!!! And the price is different, of course! The prices for the rooms and VIP villas is absolutely reasonable! Not like in Famiana resort!
And... there is no such a beautiful garden and beach on Phu Qouc like Sasco Blue Lagoon!
Every year I always come back to this places again. And I saw many resorts in Phu Quoc! Trust me! There is nothing like Sasco! Beautiful place!

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view-409,411,410 408... VIP villa, garden view such as 312. On the second floor is mo...

Good things:
Hotel in perfect location and with free airport transfer
Spa center is OK

Bad:
Incorrect booking info on site - most of villas have no sea view and bathtoobs, staff do nothing with this.
Mosquitos
Hotel territory and pool is under re-construction now.

There is a lot of hotels with same perfect locations, just in few steps to any side, try them.

Room Tip: Booking info is wrong, chalets and villas near beach is better

Very good hotel, close to the city and all restaurants in walking distance.
Was clean, the bathroom were renovated recently.
The staff is very nice and helpful.
Great for beach and long chaise/ seats.
Possibility to park you motorbike inside of the hôtel, even not rented through the hotel.
Breakfast were correct.
Free pick up at the airport for arrival and departure.
We didn't use any service for activities in the hotel, as you can have better price just outside of the hotel, i.e. laundry, moto renting, snorkeling, restaurants and bars, massages... But of course all is available;
The good thing is that you have a choice to decide what you do based on what you want and hotel allows any of your choices;
