“Yammy local food on the beach setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

I'm staying at the moment in Cassia Cottage and been visiting their place once in the evening and once during the day. Food was just great; fresh, very, very hot, reasonably priced and the most importantly very tasty!

The coconut curry was the best curry I've had so far during my trip within last over four weeks in Myanmar, Cambodia and now here in Phu Quoc.

For those of you staying in Cassia, as you arrive to the beach, turn left and walk around 200 meters to this small place. This afternoon around 2.20 pm the place was almost full, so it must be the food...:)

“Great family restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

We were eating here almost every evening and were never disappointed. You can taste all kinds of Vietnamese food, in the evening there is also a bbq. The drinks are not at all overpriced, the food is also reasonably priced. If you want to have rice, you have to order it separately, they do not bring it automatically like in most Vietnamese restaurant. We payed 10.000 dong for a small bowl. If only they could speak a little bit more of English - they understand your orders, but when you have a question concerning the food, it is rather difficult to explain and to get a sensible answer :-))

If you are staying on long beach, do yourself a favor and walk down and try this place out.
Shrimp
Fish
Squid
Crab

Thats what the sign says and this local family place does wonders serving up delicious fresh seafood.
Cold beers always help.
Nice people.
Go for anything sauteed in the lemongrass or chili.
Then supplement with a fried rice!

We stayed at Cassia Cottages and walked the 200 metres or so a couple of nights as this was an excellent place to eat. Simple, friendly and great seafood

“Natural born grillers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

We are staying next door to hieu so thought we would give it a try. It's a simple strategy; loads of fresh seafood, a barbecue, friendly service and cheap prices right on the ocean. We had a whole fish, large prawns, stuffed squid and a plate of greens for two. It was fresh and beautifully grilled in front if us. The greens weren't the tastiest but hey, it's a seafood restaurant. It was half the price of a similar meal in Saigon.
It's the first place I have seen in Phu Quoc that is genuinely busy. We will definitely be eating here again. Some tables are undercover while others are in the open along with the barbeque. I guess if it rains they are 'grillers in the mist' ... Smoke it up hieu family!
