“Not yet world class, but nice.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

From Duong Dong town down the length of Long Beach there are hotels and more hotels. Some have good services on the beach and other have none. For myself i liked that I could sit and loaf on this beach with out being bothered much. Plus the water is warm and I would float up and down the beach taking in the sites and then float back to my hotel bungalow. The few hawkers are selling pinapple and watermelon, and mangoes. Nice to have the fresh fruit. Also on the beach are massages. And they go from $2 UDS per hour up to about $30 per hour. I tried a few of the cheap ones and they were just OK.
But still I would highly recommend this beach.

“Let down”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014

I thought Long Beach would be much larger and nicer, however it was a big letdown! They quarantine off the area you can swim in and although the water was calm the lagoon they blocked off was small and filled with local tourist. There was also trash in the water from the fishing boats and even a cockroach ew! Not worth a visit unless you are interested in going out on a boat, or renting jet ski’s.

“Just Above Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2014

Stayed on the northern end of Long Beach. All in all, a decent looking beach that provides a great walk along the beach.

At the southern end are a host of Pearl Farms, which cater to the tourist market. They are expensive, but save you the hassle of being sold inferior quality or fake pearls.

These are some of the NEGATIVES:
The beach strips are quite dirty whether in the touristy north of Long Beach or the more local south.
There is some attempt to cover the more earthen, golden sand with white sand, presumably to give it a whitish hue as in Sao Beach, which I think is ridiculous.
This whitening is of course linked to a new monstrosity of a development on the southern end that will include, I presume, hotels, a mall and apartments. This development will convert this area into a modern touristy gimmick and will take away and uproot the local residents who have dwellings on the beach and are one of the few positives in the area, thereby taking away the island vibe feel.
The beach in general is what you can see in most countries in the world, and is nothing spectacular. I would say it is just above average

“Phu Quoc - Long Beach - Has its stretches both good and bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

In the main the beach is pretty good and in particular where the hotels and restaurants are located they are kept fairly clean and tidy. We stayed at the Paris Beach Resort and were extremely happy with our section of the beach. It was beautiful sand stretching out into the extremely warm waters. We did see plenty of other areas of the beach and some left a little to be desired to be honest, particularly when you headed south down towards the Pearl Farms. However, there aren't a lot of people down the southern end so its not surprising the rubbish builds up a bit. All in all the beach was very good, and really its the culture of just throwing rubbish away rather than putting it in a bin or other disposal method that causes the problem.

“The most dirty beach ever seen!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014

It is a pity! Long beach has fine golden sands but the sea and beach is sooo...dirty! Standing at the beach side I can see all types of dirt flowing in the water, and gets flushed onshore and packed there. Empty bottles, cans, map, paper carton, plastic bags, all you can find in a normal dust bin is in the sea water.

A major disappointment for my holiday in phu quoc. though the resort I lived in is so nice, I shorten my holiday and will never return to this place again.
