“Airport Hotel Korat good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Located about 15 minutes tuktuk ride form the centre of town and 5 minutes to the Royal Thai Air Force base so very convenient if your working at the base.

Very good price for the spacious room with all the usual amenities: aircon, fridge, TV and clean shower and bath. My only negative about my room was that there was some kind of boxed in unit in corner of the room which did not make any noise but did seem to create heat from it and so the aircon was working hard to keep the room cool.

I did not have breakfast but it looked like a typical buffet style. I did have room service from the restaurant and the food was very good at a sensible price.

Plenty of food stalls on the road and if you turn right out on the road and walk down to the traffic lights you will find a night food market and you will not have a problem getting something to eat.

I had a good massage from a massage shop opposite the hotel entrance, lady’s name was Wi and she seemed to be the owner and spoke good English, I had an oil massage at 200 baht for an hour.

Korat has some nice temples but you need to do some internet research to find them and the city has an old moat running around it plus the usual shopping mall.

Hotel staff were very friendly, polite and helpful.

I would have no problems recommending this hotel I stayed three nights and had a good sleep.

To begin a comment to potential Hotel owners
There is a BIG NEED in Korat to build and operate a good standard hotel.
I travelled across Thailand and almost always managed to find reasonably good hotel.
Not so in Korat / Nakon Ratchasima!! Someone go and build one ... you can be sure of great success.
The Airport Hotel... and airport hotel in name only... because there used to be an airforce airport in the area.
The hotel would have all the potential but is not kept up to date.
The broken WIFI was indicative of the hotel generally.
Yes WIFI not working, never mind... it is your! problem not ours! that it is not working.
Even on the second day of may stay .... No WIFI!
So in summary if you must stay at the Airport Hotel it is probably as good as you will find in Korat but better you find a hotel in some other city ...where you can be sure of a nice place.

Room Tip: For a smile: the hotel has two towers. chose a room facing the opposite tower .. and watch the ladie...

Great for a stopover on south <> north direction

A cosy inexpensive place for travellers who know how to organize themselves, you can book the room only or with a simple ABF, the place is around 20 years old but very well maintained, the rooms have what you need AC,fridge, free wifi, international cableTV, hot water in spacy bathrooms, the surrounding is quiet and there is a walking distance, around 1 km , to the Silver Lake Park,a widely unknown wonderful recreational area with walking/jogging and cycling tracks and very nice lake side restaurants, we love the Lantawan restaurant with its authentic Issarn food, cold beers and a great view and nice breeze after sunset, they have an english menu.

At the hotel don't expect much from the staff they are very friendly but poor in english and cannot really help, if you want them to do your laundry just give it in a bag to the roommaid, they do it well and its very cheap, room service with english menu available, no tour desk, the hotel's restaurant has live country music or western oldies and a small dance floor in the evenings until 11.00pm, at the front of the hotel is a great Thai massage shop, 7/11 is right around the corner, so are many local small restaurants and a huge night market around 1km down the road, another one in town around 4km away.

We come here for 5 years frequently ,almost every 2nd month, and it's full every night mainly with Thai tours,Thai business people or conventions groups but we always got a room.
