Looks nice but and very promising from the outside. I think the exchange rate on 'stars' is about 4 Indonesian to 1 rest of the world, they're very proud of these 'stars' but they could certainly try harder to earn them.
BUT wait there's more.
We booked online because they were the only outfit available to do so. When we arrived they were very busy with two big functions. We arrive at check in time, so thought that our rooms might be ready, we were wrong. After waiting half an hour they showed us to our room, with two king single beds, which my wife was a little miffed about. We went downstairs to request that this be changed, so they 'upgraded' us to a junior suite.
In our Junior Suite we had no drink water, coffee or tea, HOWEVER we were provided with a kettle (very handy), sugar, cups and glasses. We think they actually specificy removed the coffee and tea because we were 'upgraded' as opposed to paying for the maybe a $1 worth of coffee and tea. How cheap do you have to be, this came standard in places that we stayed in for a lot less in elsewhere.
The suite was a smoking room, so unless we had the windows open the stench was awful, especially as there was no airconditioning or a fan. Four stars really? BUT wait there's more.
In lieu of coffee in the room we headed down to the get some, not using our complimentary pre-worn sandals, our options were room service or the restaurant. We chose the restaurant and ordered tea with milk and were charged an extra 10 thousand rupiah for 'milk' which normally means sweetened condensed milk in the bottom of your cup. In this case they mixed some creamer into the pot and ripped us off, especially when there is creamer on the table for free. The view over the pool would have been nice if it wasn't green. The table cloths in the bar were dirty.
Now back to the room for a nice relaxing bath. It's really easy just boil the jug 15 times, see we told you it would come in handy, then relax. At least in the morning the shower was hot, it just isn't at any other time of day.
In summary, bring own water, tea, coffee, milk, 10L bucket (for getting hot water from the front desk if you don't want to boil the jug) or do the smart thing, stay somewhere else.
