“Best diving I've done”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

I've dives some amazing places from Sipidan to Uepi. This one has it all. Totally for macro fans, you'll see all you want to see and more. Just ask the guide and he'll do his hardest to get something for you.

Third time I've stayed here and I've never had a bad word to say about it. This time we had a villa which is roughly 2k from the dive shop (there are mopeds to get around on). Found it quiet and relaxing - sound of the ocean waves is a must!

Superb value for money and we'll be abck again for sure.

Stayed at Tulamben wreck divers 3 times now. Once in a superior room and twice in the penthouses. The penthouse rooms are comfy and well set out you get a nice breeze come through in the afternoons and views of the sea. The staff are extremely friendly and always eager to help any request. In the afternoons massage ladies arrive and for approximately $9 aus you can get an hour long massage to heal those post dive muscles. After trying a number of other dive outfits around the area during numerous visits to Bali over the years I can say the dive shop is the most professional outfit in Tulamben and you can do any PADI certified courses there. If you are planning to dive the wreck it pays to get up early for the first dive of the day as these days the wreck can get very busy. All in all if your coming to Tulamben for diving or just to relax from the hussle and bussle of Kuta I highly recommend Tulamben wreck divers for your stay.

We stayed in the villas here for three nights in July. We should have stayed for longer. The villas overlook the sea, are quiet, big, well laid out, clean and functional and a very relaxing place. The outdoor bathrooms are awesome.

As others have mentioned, the villas are a little outside of town and away from the dive shop (approximately 600 metres). This can be a little isolating as you need to travel into town for diving and for lunch or dinner. If you are not a diver but staying in the villas you may not have a lot to do (other than hang out by the pool overlooking the ocean and getting the occasional massage). Staff provided us with a scooter to drive to and from the villas along the road and that was almost as fun as the diving. So if you are comfortable on a scooter/motorbike it is not an issue. The staff would also regularly offer to drive you to and from the dive shop to the villas etc.

The diving is great though the liberty can get quite crowded with day trip divers from Kuta etc. As such a dive before breakfast is the best and visits to other sites later in the day. We dove the liberty three times and I expect you would need 3-4 dives on the wreck to appreciate it properly.

The dive shop staff and guides are professional and our DM always ensured we made safety stops on every dive.

All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and made for a very enjoyable stay. I would go back.

This was our second stay in Tulamben. The guides are very nice people. The penthouse rooms are very spacy with wifi, fridge, large bed and a good warm shower. I can surely recommend to every diver. The diving is not cheap but quality has a price... They took us to Amed for a day diving at a reasonable rate 20 $ per person.

Room Tip: we loved the penthouse rooms ....

We have stayed at Tulamben Wreck Divers twice now and want to go back again. I would highly recommend to upgrade to the beach front villas. It's like your own private resort right on the beach. Our morning view was a mountain behind our villa with the morning sun lighting it up. I got my PADI ticket there and the dive instructor was fantastic! My fiance is a seasoned diver and his guide took him to some wonderful places!

Room Tip: Upgrade to the beach front villas. There is no TV but you can play DVD's . Make sure you take s...

As a family we had the pleasure of staying at Tulamben Wreck Divers Resort for 2 nights. They have several properties at Tulamben and we stayed at the one located 500 metres from the dive centre.
We did not use the centre for Diving ( we had instructors from Sanur) just as a place to stay. My teenage children and I were so impressed with the spaciousness and cleanliness of the rooms, we had rooms upstairs with a fabulous view of Mt. Agung. This was so relaxing after a day's diving. As Aussies we loved the small touches , vegemite at breakfast, a variety of tea's and coffee in the rooms plus DVD player.
The staff were attentive and kind. One of my teenage children suffered some ear problems when diving and could not dive on the second day there, she was able to stay in the room until our dives were completed and join us on our departure to Sanur at 2:30pm.
After reading other reviews, I know that I will stay at Tulamben Wreck Divers again next time for more than 2 nights.

We spent a total of 9 nights in Tulamben - 5 of which were spent with Tulamben Wreck Divers in one of their "Superior Rooms".

To summarise - we were exceptionally happy with our stay.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff, including our assigned Dive Guide (Jaya) - who had waited around to greet us - a lovely way to start our stay.

Our room was awesome - very clean, spacious, and surrounded by tropical gardens. Although not essential to a good stay - we were impressed that the windows were tinted (giving us privacy while the blinds were open and also keeping the room cool enough that we didn't have to use the airconditioner), and also that the toilets flushed as well as most Western Toilets - little touches that made the stay more comfortable.

At the price (approximately US$37 a night) - we felt it represented EXCELLENT value for money.

Breakfast was included and we thoroughly enjoyed these meals - it was nice to have a few different options, depending on what we felt like that morning (and being supplied Vegemite was also a very nice touch, given that we are from Australia!)

In terms of the diving and diving service - we cannot fault it.
Our Guide (Jaya) was EXCELLENT - a thoroughly nice person, and highly competent dive guide. In speaking to other guests - we never heard anyone complain about any of the Dive Guides or the service they were receiving. Given that we were there to dive - this was highly important.

Jaya was very observant to what animal life we either wanted to see or enjoyed seeing - and made a point of finding or pointing out these critters to us. We left Tulamben most satisfied with what we'd seen, and also having learnt a thing or two.

We were travelling as a couple, and my partner had had an incident earlier (whilst staying at a different dive resort) which we thought may have been DCI-related. When we arrived at Tulamben Wreck Divers we were concerned, and so spoke to Tony (the owner) about this.

Despite the incident not happening whilst diving with his resort, Tony did not hesitate to provide oxygen - an act that we truly appreciated. We really felt this was highly professional, and indicative of the quality of the service and diving operation offered by his resort.

With regards to location - it was great. Tulamben is not a huge town anyway, but the rooms are right across the road from the supermarket and also next to a range of restaurants - plus also close to the Liberty Wreck - a highlight of the area.

The pool was lovely and clean, and added to the tropical feel of the resort.

We plan to stay at Tulamben Wreck Divers again, and would happily recommend this resort to anyone thinking of visiting Tulamben - be it a scuba-diver, snorkeller, or general holiday-maker... it really was a great holiday.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor were surrounded by tropical gardens (which we loved), rooms upstairs had v...
