“Beautiful and relaxing.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2012

We stayed 4 nights at this beautiful new (just over a year old) resort and really enjoyed it. The location is fantastic, but don't expect much of a beach. The staff have obviously been trained to serve you well, but it comes in handy if you speak a little bit 'bahasa Indonesia'.
The bungalows are spacious and clean, only the airco needs seeing to as we could not adjust the fan, which was blowing too hard straight towards the bed. Then it becomes a little difficult to make the technician understand what the problem is.
We were to lazy to go out for food and drinks and only used the hotel restaurant, or had drinks served at our own bungalows' terrace. All much to our satisfaction.
The dive base is located on the grounds, and I would definately recommend it. The equipment is well looked after. Instructors and dive guides are most friendly and helpfull. You get your personal guide and arrange with him at what time and where you want to go diving. Very relaxed, this way you can avoid rush hour at the Liberty wreck, which lies almost in front of the resort.
We have just returned from our Bali tour, and are already planning next year's trip, which will certainly include a stay at Ocean View Dive Resort Tulamben.

Room Tip: All rooms (bungalows) are good we stayed in the bungalow nearest the sea. Check the airco, the fan...

Its a beautiful setting and lovely rooms, with staff that really try hard. The dive operation is good, and at your doorstep, literally.
But the breakfast is very poor, and the service staff and chefs could do much much better. Do not hesitate to stay here, but definitely eat elsewhere like Lesehan Segara Tegeh. I suppose you might have to put up with the breakfast, but don't let that put you off. Also half decent post-dive drinks can be found at Tauch Tulamben a few doors down along the best.

Enjoy!

We got this place recommended by some other divers. And wauw we just loved the place. Located right on the beach, it makes it ideal for diving at the wreck. You get a guide at the hotel diveshop, and then you decide when to go diving, so you don't ave to dive in rush hour (11-14) Put on your weightbelt and take mask and fins - thereafter walk 100 meter to the beach were the diveguides have set up the gear. Put gear on and walk inti the water.... How lazy does that sound!

Even though there really is no beach to lay on at all in Tulamben, the pool at this place makes you feel like you are right there anyway.

The villas are really spacious. The bathroom is 20m2 and the room itself is around 35-40m2 and very clean. The interior is very minimalistic and jst beautiful. The staff is so helpful and serviceminded. We stayed there at the end of low season and managed to get a discount. But if we go back to Tulamben we will definetly pay full price, jst to be sure to stay at Ocean View.

Restaurants are 5 minutes away. The food at the resort is great, but after a few days the menu seems to small.

I lead a group of 14 divers here. The view is stunning. You are looking at the ocean from your room. Each room is its own cottage with the bathroom that is just insane in size. You will receive all your service with a great Balinese smile and attention.

The downside: There was a 1.5 hour difference between when the first person received their meal to when the last person received their meal in my group (they actually order the same thing). The restaurant also added items to several members of my party. The manager asked us to just to pay for the extra items and they will just give us the items tomorrow. Interesting...

The food is mediocre at best. Satay was bland, curry was unflavourful. We ended up going over to Wayan Restaurant down the street and had much better food for half the price.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms in the front. They have better rooms than in the back.

I just recently come back from bali and found the ocean view resort to be outstanding. I could not believe the view of the ocean from my room. It was also a very quiet location. The room and bathroom were 5 star quality. I found going in the low season i saved alot of money off the room. I payed only $60 per night. The main reason that people go to tulamben is to go diving. So i completed my Open water and advanced open the water. I found the instructor great and was easy to understand. The dives were also cheap only $30 per dive which included hiring of equipment too. Lovely coral reef, fish and the uss liberty ship wreck. The food and staff were also very friendly and extremely helpful. I highly recommend this resort and i know i will be back again.

we only stayed one night as part of a scuba package and we wish we could have stayed longer. It's a great location with a bit a a better beach (this part of the coast is rocky) and spacious and beautiful grounds. The room was huge and very nicely decorated. The largest bathroom ever - not that you would need the space. All rooms are free standing, so you don't share wall with anyone -very quite and peaceful. Very comfortable bed and plenty of space to put your stuff. Breakfast was good - typically for this area - eggs, bread and fruit. Very good service. I would choose to stay there again.

This resort had only been only opened a couple of months when I stayed there so understandably there were some teething problems ie the cottage next door had some bathroom door problems...but the view !! Situated just next to tulamben beach the views from our cottages were fantastic....and it's really windy day n night...of course the beach is only for diving cuz the waves were strong n rocks painful on the feet...the bathroom was the biggest I've ever seen....it was nearly as big as the room itself....foodwise, well it was just ok...breakfast was uninspiring...and there were few guests since there's only a few cottages....so overall the fantastic views made a deep n fond impression on my memories...I could deal with the rest of the shortcomings like the lack of a spa...but overall a nice n quiet lovely place....
