We stayed at The Anantara for the 2nd week of our Honeymoon in Bali and fell in love with the place straight away
The staff, suites, food (especially breakfast), gym and spa was all first class and we were treated like royalty
The Anantara is more suited to younger couples as it is very modern and they sometimes have a DJ playing, which was a real treat.
Seminyak is a little hectic, there is a lot of traffic and it's not the prettiest place but the shops and restaurants are fab and cheap and the people are so nice, just watch the mad dogs walking about everywhere!!

We both felt really looked after in this hotel compared to where we stayed the week before and the little extra touches they made for the Honeymoon just made us love this place even more!

We will be back.......

The Anantara is a beautiful resort that exceeded all expectations. To Ivan, Hendri and the entire team - congratulations and thank you. You created and delivered a holiday experience that we will always remember and compare others to, regardless of where we are in the world. I could not possible fault a thing. We will return.

Bali has come of age as a destination and the Anantara on the beach at Seminyak demonstrates just how far the hospitality industry has progressed. This is a supurb hotel with a great location and fabulous facilities. We had 14 days to soak up all that the Anantara had to offer. Our beach front suite was spectacular with balcony spa and spacious well thought out rooms. The infinity pool sweeps along the front of the property with uninterupted views to the ocean. There is really nothing quite like enjoying a cool drink poolside watching a Bali sunset. The staff could not do enough for us. Overall it was a fabulous experience and in todays market represents great value for money. aiden bryson

I've stayed at Anantara for the first time in June 2008 and after a very bad experience and a bad feeback, the management has been very nice to send me a complimentary voucher for a new experience at Anantara...
A few weeks ago, i've decided to start my holidays in Bali by two nights in this resort and actually, i'm still not a fan of this property...
Yes, i have to say that the location is more than good, just in front of the ocean with stunning views and directly on Dhyana Pura st., the busy and lively area of Seminyak where you'll find plenty of trendy places for dining and drinking...
Yes, the staff is very smily everywhere in the property but everybody knows that balinese people is always so nice and it's very true at Anantara.
Yes, the size of the suites is huge at the point if you're on the terrace and if somebody knock at the door, you'd like to have a control to unlock the door....
BUT... but i've seen again a lot of problems in this property and first of all the maintenance... The hotel is quite new but looks aged already because the materials used for the construction are not a good quality. Plenty of problems with electrical plugs, the light we can't stop in the cupboard even if the door is closed...
We can complain also about the comfort, not for the bed which is so comfy, but for the soundproofing (even if the window is closed, you'll hear a lot of noise from outside and moreover, it's impossible to lock the window...)
Also, I'm not a fan of the design of the hotel... Rooms are nicely decorated but the lobby and the restaurant are not well designed and it looks a bit cheap. I'm surprised because now, it's so easy to find a nice trendy design but at Anantara, taste is a bit weird but actually, it's my point of view and maybe others will love but i tend to think it's nice "trendy" and not "elegant" as well...
I've been a bit annoyed by the atmosphere as well... When you check in in a five stars hotel facing the ocean, you expect to enjoy the sound of waves but a DJ party has been organized during our stay and to have techo-house music from 2pm until 8pm just give you the desire to escape... A lot of people came from outisde and it was just impossible to stay around the pool... no more chairs available for hotel guests and honnestly, a lounge music should has been less annoying...
So, i'm a bit sorry not to be able to give more than 3 points but this property is not a five stars and the standards are hard to find... Despite of the location and the nice staff, despite of a very good breakfast and large rooms, unfortunately, i can't recommend this hotel...
