We (2 adults) were booked into the Ulin Villas for five nights but only stayed for one. The reason why we checked out so fast was because the villa was so plain and had nothing special about it at all. We also found it to be very dark inside, no good lighting, and the living area was far too cramped and had only one small and well used crappy looking couch. It looked like it came from a second hand store! Overall, we did not feel comfortable here. The villa is down a narrow, boring, alley way, and no sign from the main road so our driver simply could not find it until we stopped to ask two different people. It is the most uneventful arrival one can imagine!
Outside, the pool area was nice, but there is no umbrella to shade you. We went to lunch at the Oberoi and were hooked. So we ended up booking a room there and had no regrets for the duration of our stay. The staff at the Ulin Villas try very hard and are friendly. But there were other quibbles such as giving my husband a faulty adaptor that gave him a nasty electric shock when he plugged it in! The man who came to bring it to us could not speak one word of English and instead of helping my husband, he simply turned around and walked out without ever going to get a new, SAFE adaptor!
We were very happy at the Oberoi and would recommend this instead.
