“The perfect position”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Having heard lots of good reports about the beachside villas at The Samaya in Seminyak after 15 years of staying out yearly in Jimbaran we felt it was time to come back and check out the new Seminyak / Kerobokan area. We were not disappointed ! We were met when the plane landed and taken to their fast check in where their staff helped and within moments we were on our way to this beautiful villa set right on the best part of Seminyak beach. We were very lucky and stayed in one of their Royal Pavillions . Once we opened out beautiful security gates we looked on to the main pool and the beach! Most of the new top restaurants were just a stroll away or a short taxi trip..
Each Villa a private haven to relax if you wish or walk the resort and chat to other holiday makers. Lounge room , bathroom and bed room all have access to your own private pool. Large outdoor living area. Beautiful 4 poster bed with the biggest bathroom i have encounted in any hotel or villa with enormous spa bath. . Also a fantastic outdoor shower set up if you want to take advatage of the weather. A large Hot tub sits on the decking next to the pool.
I have stayed at many 5/6 star resorts. This is different. Not overly flashy just a small check in area with staff who make you feel they want you to enjoy your stay in every way. Staff there to do any possible wish you could have but never in your face as you always felt you were the only people in this small boutique style resort. Your privacy was respected in every part of the resort. It feels like your home not like some resort where there are loud guests everywhere.
Its restaurant Breeze was fantastic. Breakfast no trashy smorgas board but any thing you could imagine the chef could cook to prefection and then some! I commented one day i had heard they were famous for their marmalade jam. Lots had been consumed in their free high tea served every afternoon. You guessed it, by breakfast the next day the chef presented me with a fresh batch he had made during the night!! Service beyond and above! I had several dinners set on the beach boardwalk at Breeze and it was faultless. Its cocktails superb. Each guest was asked how they prefered their cocktails made and the staff remembered for our full 11 day stay.
As you left for breakfast you were asked did it suit you if the staff cleaned your room. Instead of one or two staff members taking ages. A large crew entered and the rooms were left spotless the garden freshly racked and the pool and hot tub left spotless. Rooms cleaned twice a day with all Crabtree and Everlyn beauty products replenished. Cakes or cookies layed out for you before bed and the mini bar loaded with all drinks even chocolates free of charge < except alcohol> all day.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. At least once a day their staff offered to drop me off shoping at no cost to me. If i wanted a taxi for the day that was arranged at a very reasonable rate.
To sum up not a pretentious flashy resort where you could ever feel uncomfortable but a spotless home where you are everyone who works theres number one priority is to please you. The spa resonably priced and one of the very best i have visited. It was a full pampering holiday one that even at 11 days was just not long enough!

Room Tip: Beachside Royal Pavillions are great! Nothing better than the crash of the waves to put you to sleep...

We spent five very enjoyable nights at Samaya, a highlight of our two week Bali trip. We stayed in a beachside pool villa which was extremely spacious with an extra large pool that received a good dose of sunshine, perfect for lazing on the deck with a book and cocktail. We have decided the large, sumptuous bed with soft and luxurious pillows is one of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in. The bathrooms are enormous and fit for a princess with a beautiful outdoor shower, two vanity’s and a dressing table. At Samaya its all about the small five star touches that make this place a stand out, no stone is left unturned.

The resort is visually stunning. The gardens, the main pool and beach are postcard perfect. A lazy afternoon out by the lounges watching and listening to the ocean while sipping Lychee Bellini’s is heavenly. Samaya is conveniently located at the end of ‘eat street’ with bars and restaurants all within walking distance.

The service cannot go unmentioned. Unpretentious, sincere and warm with staff always willing to go the extra mile. The staff are some of the best we’ve encountered on our travels, from the pool side staff waiting with a towel and topping your water up, the restaurant staff who remember your name, reception who welcome you with open arms and the butlers who ensure your every need is met. An amazing team that Management should be very proud off. I think the difference in service compared to other five star resorts is the genuine and soft nature of the staff rather than a pre-programmed, forced nature that we’ve encountered at other hotels.

Finally, I need to rave about the food. The complimentary afternoon tea can be taken anywhere within the resort or your villa at your chosen time, a lovely touch! Breakfast can be delivered to your villa if you choose rather than the restaurant; we ate a delicious breakfast feast by our villa pool most mornings. The breakfast selection is broad and all extremely delicious. And lastly, Breezes restaurant is outstanding. Set along the beach the setting and ambiance are beautiful but the stand out is the food. World class fare, fusion flavors and contemporary presentation.

We are looking forward to our next stay at Samaya. Thanks to all the wonderful staff and Ray the GM who bid us farewell.

We spend two days at Samaya Seminyak. The location is very close to the beach and you can hear the waves all around the area and there are a lot of surfers. However, in the Villa it is extrodinary quiet. The room is spacious, expecially the bathroom. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner on the private beach could be very romantic. it's a pity that we didn't see much of the sunset because it was really cloudy during the everning. We could spend the whole day laying down on the beach and Samaya gives you the true vacation experience.

Impeccable service, comfortable environment and tiptop standards for cleanliness. Our stay at our 1room Royal Courtyard Villa was nothing short of wonderful. There is privacy and when you need any assistance, the Samaya staff will never fail to provide help quickly and politely. We will definitely choose Samaya again if we revisit Bali!

What can I Say?Everything is just perfect in the samaya. My family with my 8 year old son n 18 months old daughter totally enjoy pur 5 days there. We have booked a one bedroom courtyard villa which is less than a 5 mins buggy ride away from main villas.Calling for buggy services is fast n efficient.
From the huge villas,to the stunning pool,to the beautiful beach n sea facing Breeze Restaurant. The Samaya is like a small family. The staffs were so genuine and sincere and delicate in serving us.These makes me feel so inferior compare to the hospitality sector back in Singapore.
The shoppings n restaurants are just a stone away from the villas too.
I have regretted not staying a few days more.

My husband and I spent a week at the Samaya in June 2013 and it is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed at. All rooms at this small hotel are private villas with bedroom, private pool and an outdoor deck/lounge area. The bathrooms are out of this world - the biggest we have ever seen! Service was absolutely spotless and we spent more than one evening just sitting by the sea at the Breeze restaurant. For drinks, try Samaya punch, Cantona or the wheatgrass shot - so fresh and healthy! (Or have a mojito; my husband loved them!). Same goes for the food, it was extremely high quality and so tasty - especially the squid ink risotto! And we could not have enough of those crispy croissants for breakfast...
Actually, Samaya exceeded our high expectations and was just perfect for our holiday (we would love to try any of the other Samaya hotels in other countries in the future). Seminyak was quite busy and could not offer what the hotel could - a quiet restaurant with a sea view. Therefore we found ourselves abandoning Seminyak more than once, to go back and have a relaxing dinner at the hotel restaurant instead, because that's just how we like to spend our holiday.

Located on Jl Laksmana otherwise known as Oberoi Road or Eat Street which is the islands premier location in the Seminyak area stands the Samaya which is a 30 minute drive from the airport.
The Samaya is very classy but in an understated way. The rooms were divine, its more like a one bedroom villa than a room. Surrounded by a 3 metre wall to ensure privacy, our "room" consisted of a seperate TV room with soft couches, a bedroom with a massive comfortable bed and a bathroom which is bigger than most people's houses, which contained indoor and outside shower, bath/jacuzzi, seperate dressing area and wardrobes, private pool, garden and lounge area.
Beachside location was superb as was the outdoor dining area. Given it's central location we tended to go for dinner and spa treatments outside the hotel, and we liked the fact that there were some of Bali's best bars and restaurants within walking distance or a 5 minute drive. All transportation in the Seminyak area was complementary which was a nice touch! Finally, the service, the staff are young and energetic and provided a level of service of a high standard.
We are used to top end luxurious hotels and the Samaya did not disappoint. We cannot wait to go back
