“Relaxing Spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Recently went here for a long weekend and stayed in their villa with a private swimming pool. Was a very relaxing atmosphere, within walking distance to the shops / restaurants and friendly staff. Bfast is served in the villa which is wonderful, however they have limited options for vegetarians and the toasted bread turns hard if you don't eat it fast. I would def recommend staying at this hotel. Booked their transport to/from the airport and they were on time in picking up, which ends up being cheaper than trying to find a Blue Bird TAxi on your own. Had their 15 minute massage and was very relaxing (it's only a foot massage). The pool was great, however the water was a bit cold, though it was super hot outside. The trees were shading the water, therefore didn't get heated up as it should've.

Room Tip: Got a great deal on the room by booking on their site directly. Check the hotel site for specials.

We stayed at the Uma Sapna for 7 days firstly in an executive villa and then a deluxe villa and we loved it! The staff are friendly, the breakfast is tasty and the villas and private pools are beautiful. The mini-bar and room service are reasonably priced and I loved having the spa in the complex to have massages whenever I fancied it. Being Bali first-timers, it was easy to organise day trips to Ubud and Uluwatu through reception - Darma is a very knowledgable and helpful driver! The only downside would be that the villa isn't centrally located. Having said that it is a short and cheap cab ride to Seminyak beach, bars and restaurants. Overall we would highly recommend Uma Sapna to couples and families who want a premium, private getaway with easy access to the action of Seminyak and surrounds!

We stayed here in March and were at first extremely disappointed with the room we had initially (regular private pool villa). The room was tiny, the pool was uninspiring, there were no doors to the bathroom and the bathroom was very close to the bed so the room got stinky quickly when one person was using the toilet. One of us had to go outside to give the person in the bathroom privacy and not have to deal with the smell. When we checked in the front desk staff told us we were being upgraded the next day and I was happily surprised to hear this as it was quite unexpected. I ended up being so grateful that we got upgraded because the review for this resort would have been dismal had we not gotten to experience a different room.

The grounds of the hotel were pretty but everything is surrounded by walls. The main pool is pretty small and no one was ever around it (though it had a pretty day bed on a covered pavilion at the head of the pool). There wasn't a lot of room along the sides of the pool (enough for 1 person to pass comfortably) and since it was the main walkway to get to any of the rooms it would have been uncomfortable to sit by the pool unless you were on the 1 daybed at the head of the pool) with the constant foot traffic of guests and hotel staff.

The next day the room they took us to was magical! It was a 1 bedroom executive villa with private pool with a huge plunge pool, a grassy lawn with 2 lounge chairs, an outdoor covered room with long marble bar with chairs, sink, fridge (stocked with soda and beer with prices the same low price as you'd get if you went into town to buy it!), coffee maker, water cooler, attached outdoor living room with comfy chairs and couch and even a coffee table, a separate covered area for 2 lounge chairs facing the pool and amazing lights for the pavilion areas and the pool at night. There was a large granite tub and a shower room and a toilet room (both had glass doors but at least they had doors)!

The resort is close to town and easy walking distance or a cheap cab ride anywhere you want to go. The only things we didn't like about this resort (besides the room the first night) were that it seemed very isolated and no one interacted since there was no hotel restaurant and breakfast was always brought to your room. Nice if you're on a honeymoon or trying to avoid seeing people, but for us social creatures it was a bit lonely. My husband said he would never choose to stay there again (he likes to socialize, as do I) but with the upgrade I definitely thought it was worth the stay. Small nit-picky detail is that the breakfast was terrible. It was included so I don't really feel like complaining about it too much - but be ready to find breakfast elsewhere. Even free it wasn't worth eating. There was a BOSE sound system to hook your ipod into but I had to exchange the first one at the front desk since it didn't work. After that it was wonderful and we could lounge in the pool listening to our own music.

Oh and finally the very best part of this stay besides the upgraded room was the massages at their spa. We got some free vouchers with out room and then I paid for some massages as well and it was phenomenal (and they don't gouge you for prices like most other resorts). It's still cheaper out in town ($8!!!) but it was nice to have a wonderful masseuse right there are the property. I'm not sure I'd stay again just because of the isolation of the resort itself though once you walk out the doors to the resort everything is right there so it's not isolated from the rest of Seminyak. Wonderful staff and a beautiful little resort, but like I said don't stay in any room there other than 1 bedroom executive villa or better if you want a nice room!

Room Tip: Get the 1 bedroom executive villa with private pool. AWESOME rooms!

Reading the reviews made me and my friends confirmed our decision to stay here. It was our first time in Bali so we were not very familiar with the places. It is actually just a short walk to food and shopping but we found it a little secluded especially at night as there are no lights to walk out to the main road. No worries though as taxi is available almost any time and charged using the meter. Lovely villa but in terms of location maybe not suitable for first timers like us. Once we familiarise ourselves maybe we'll come back again. Love the pool!

It was our first time to go to Bali and for months I considered cost and accessibility and quality of the accommodations etc.,etc. and after all that effort I decided to book at uma sapna several months before going there. Their staff have been very prompt in replying to the emails I've sent them regarding various inquiries and arrangements for the tours, etc.

When we got there, everything went smoothly from the pick up at the airport, to the really early drop off for our 8 am flight out, arrangements for the tours / van rental, reservations for dinner, etc etc. The two bedroom villa we stayed in was clean, well appointed, had a huge clean toilet and bath, and the bed was wonderful to sleep in! The place was quiet and private, and we had great fun swimming and dancing to music because we had the place to ourselves. One night we didn't want to go out for dinner, and had barbecued pork ribs delivered from one of the restaurants in seminyak.

The choices for breakfast was enough for us, it is what is usually expected in places not serving buffet breakfasts. The portions are ample, and it was nice to wake up and have breakfast delivered to our own private dining area at the time we requested each morning, so that all of our scheduled activities for the day went as planned. We also didn't have to dress for breakfast and ate in our pjs. On our last day we had to leave really early for the airport and they arranged our breakfast to be served at 5:30 am, when they usually start at 6. They don't have a restaurant and that was ok with us since we wanted to eat at different places while we were there.

one thing we learned while going around bali is that they have small roads, even in areas with a lot of resorts and a lot of hotels. At first, when we went out to walk to the Main Street to have lunch I wasn't sure if I liked the road we were passing to get there, since cars and taxis and motorcycles were passing this way and that. But after a while it seemed this is the norm for the roads in bali, and compared to some of the roads fronting other resorts - the small road to and from the hotel was actually well paved. it was really quite near the shopping / restaurant areas and a great place to stay for first timers to bali. It was quite easy to get to know our way around. They gave us a map of the nearby stores and restaurants which helped a lot.

We opted to avail of the whole day car rental being offered by the resort, and though its a bit pricier than other rentals there, we really appreciated the convenience and the way we we able to customize where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see. it was nice that our driver was also trustworthy because they work at the resort, and we had a great time going around with him guiding us. Thank you Nyomen!

Staying at Uma Sapna was the best decision for us. we had a wonderful stay. Thank you to the staff for the exemplary service!

We just returned from Uma Sapna an 8 night holiday. What a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa. There was plenty of room for 2 couples. The pool area was large, we had 4 sun beds and still had room to move. We loved breakfast delivered to our table. No waiting for tables or dressing up for breakfast. The bedrooms were spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable not at all like other hotels stayed in. The bathroom had plenty of supplies if you forgot to pack the small things. The was a safe in the room. Fly spray, mozzie coils and mozzie cream was supplied. There was a decent size fridge. The shops and restaurants are easy walking down some back lane ways. The staff was fantastic, nothing was to much trouble. We would be back there tomorrow if we could.

We stayed on a villa with private pool....from the photos we thought it will be just a small pool with not much space around but the pool is a decent size with a good size garden area that has sunbeds and its big enough to do done exercises. Breakfast is served in the villa which was a plus for us..

Location is not in the centre of seminyak but 5 minutes walk you are on the busy street with lots of lovely restaurant, felt like I was in Chelsea....

Oh they don't sell alcohol at the villa the only alcohol is that which is on the mini bat and not much choice. There is a big supermarket down the road to stock up!!

In all this is a beautiful clean place with great service!!
