It is an impressive hotel that is nearly perfect. The only fault if any is that it is so large it suffers from being impersonal and difficult to find your way around. A few maps and things and better explanation of the layout would make it better.

Dear Royal Guest,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and for the feedback. I am pleased to inform you that we have the hotel site plan on the hotel booklet given upon arrival for our guest guidance.
However, we do agree that we need to add more direction information in the areas.

Once again, thank you for the feedback and we are looking forward to welcoming you back to the resort in the near future.

Sincerely,

We stayed at the Royal Beach for 5 nights at the beginning of our two week Bali / Lombok tour and loved it. It's in a great location on the beach and only a 5-10min walk from the shops and restaurants in Seminyak (plus taxi's are cheap if you would rather get one).

The staff were very friendly and helpful - for example, we wanted to come back and spend a few hours at the hotel at the end of our holiday before going to the airport - they stored our luggage for us no problem at all.

There are two pools - one by the beach and the garden pool. It can be tricky to find sun loungers if you arrive late morning!

The food and drinks are great but as expected when staying in a hotel like it is expensive to eat and drink here compared to other places in the area.

We'd thoroughly recommend it to others.

Dear Donnaleedew,

Warmest greetings from The Royals!

Thank you for your kind compliment and I believe our team will be thrilled to read your review.
We have noted your concern about the sun loungers and we are doing our best to ask our guests' understanding not to do so.

Once again, thank you for your feedback and we are looking forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back in the near future.

We stayed late September 2011 for four nights at the Royal Beach, having already stayed six nights in Nusa Dua where we had loved the Westin. As we were paying over A$400 per night which was over $100 more per night than the Westin, we had extremely high expectations. Upon arrival we were excited to learn that we had been 'upgraded' from a Deluxe to a Grand Deluxe room. Unfortunately we found that this room was next door to the elevator, so we asked to move because of the noise and went back to a Deluxe room, which was in a better position anyway nearer the pool and we could not tell any difference between the room types. We found the room to smell musty and the decor quite dated and the floor felt 'sticky'. The lighting was dim and there was little natural light coming from the windows. The bed was the most uncomfortable one we've slept in, seemingly sagging in the middle. The shower overflowed the first night, but the staff were very friendly and helpful and maintenance fixed this quite quickly. The food was good and quite good value and staff exceptionally nice, but we did feel that the rooms were tired and had we paid only $200 or less per night for the room, we would have thought they were ok, but $400 p/n and we were expecting something a lot more luxurious, lighter and cleaner. I guess we were expecting a bit more of a 'wow' factor for the price, but felt deflated that we had already spent the money (pre-booked) and we could not cancel or get a refund. The hotel is ideally situated if you want to go shopping but we just wanted to sit by the pool and stay in the room, so will not be returning to this hotel. Not to be all negative, food and service good, just the facilities need refreshing.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the pool side

Stayed at Royal Beach two nights. Nice hotel, very good breakfasts and great menus and food at the restaurants.

Garden Pool was nice and quiet mostly, but did not appreciate the pool closer to the beach (it was a really nice pool in which to swim) as there were too many screaming teenagers using the pool who thought every moment of their joy needed to be punctuated with ear piercing screams of delight. So stayed away from this pool.

As for the very close beach I am afraid it was very poor. I thought the long expanse of beach was utterly spoilt by numerous amounts of rubbish either washed up or dumped by locals everywhere.

I walked/ran the beach quite a lot and some of the inflows from the nearby creeks looked like they were sewer outlets.

I had a surf once and enjoyed the water, but after on the next day ended up with an ear infection.

Dear Royal Guest,

Thank you for your kind review and we are sorry to hear that you had an ear infection from swimming at the beach. It is not something to be proud of, but there is period when there might be rubbish visible on the shore. However, I am pleased to inform you that the local authority has allocated team to clean the beach line from Kuta to Seminyak every morning and adding to that effort, we also have our gardener team to do their utmost to keep the beach in-front of the resort clean.

Once again, thank you for the feedback and we surely hope that you will give us another chance to welcoming you back to the resort.

I have recently returned from an 11 night stay at this hotel and it was amazing! From the moment we arrived I knew we had chose a great hotel. We were greeted with flowers and a refreshing drink! The rooms were lovely and spacious and the hotel grounds were stunning. The hotel is set right on the beach too. The staff were so impressive and polite. They were constantly around making sure every one was OK. The food at the hotel was really good although a lot more expensive than in the village of Seminyak itself. We found some really good restaurants on the beach front which were quite pricey but well worth trying out! Balinese people are probably the most friendly people you will ever meet. It's well worth hiring a driver for the day to explore the island as there is so much it has to offer. I wish I could have stayed for longer. I will definitely be returning soon!
