“And you know it is good when the French diners are here too !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

We booked The Bistrot online and walked easily from our villa (Uma Sapna). Our booking was for 7pm - early by Bali standards with the restaurant being full by 8pm - and filled with French families, which is always a great sign.

We started off with a tuna salad which was nice, before both having a steak with bernaise sauce and fries. The steak was perfectly cooked, the fries good (though could have been a little more generous) and the sauce delicious.

Our meal finished with two delicious desserts - I had the chocolate souffle with hazelnut ice cream and my husband had cheese. We both loved our desserts - of a very high standard.

The only downside of our meal was a less than attentive waitress who kept us "alone" for over 45minutes following main course. The head waitress made amends once we brought this to her attention (and was just wonderful - so thank you).

We would highly recommend The Bistrot for a wonderful French meal while in Bali.

The Bistrot is also BYO wine, which was fantastic (corkage is 150000 rupiahs).

“Shame the food isnt as impressive as the interior...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

This place is stunning, a converted Barn decorated in the most exquisite French style. Exposed brick, gorgeous chandeliers, beautiful period furniture and divine rugs. A real feast for the eyes. Sadly the food doesn't reflect the interior. My husband and I had Calamari and scallops as an Entree. Both bland and non descript. I had steak for the main and my husband had fish, again non offensive but underwhelming. Go here for a cocktail or a coffee and enjoy the surroundings - don’t bother with the food.

“Full of character”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

The Bistrot is a hidden gem in Seminyak. What impressed us the most is the high ceilings and amazing 60s style antique decor. Very very funky. It seems like it just opened when we visited, as there were not many people there, but it has amazing potential. The food is just as good, we loved the burgers, and fantastic fries.
