“Absolutely fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

The Bistrot was simply amazing. The food was delicious, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was incredible. The fit out of the Bistrot is gorgeous - we had such a fantastic night! I got to meet the famous Stephanie, she was absolutely lovely and made sure that everything was seen to. 10/10! Best eat I have had in Bali to date. Thank you for an incredible night.

“Not Bad...but could do a lot better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

After seeing the cool ads in various Mags alerting to Bistrot opening, I was excited to finally get to try it with a group of friends last night. The decor is amazing, the room has a great feel to it, arriving early and leaving relatively late we got to see the space in daylight with not many people and at night time when it was packed, the room holds up very nicely. Service was OK, Stephanie was very friendly, and waitresses were happy and engaged but seemed to lack some basic table service skills (removing plates, filling wine glasses etc.) Major letdown was definitely the food..I had such high hopes and it simply didnt cut it. We ordered a number of different Tapas sharing dishes and i found all of them to be quite bland and uninspiring, even though reading them on the menu, they sounded delicious. The scallop dish was simply a disgrace 4 tiny tiny scallops placed along the edge of the plate with a pile of salad and procuitto in the middle, garlic prawns were overcooked, fois gras was nice but again not much of it (and brioche served was stone cold)
Off site parking is handy but overall there are some things they need to address in order to survive in "Eat Street" in Bali as the competition is tough...I wish them well as Bistrot has the potential of being something really special.

“Nice place, not to good staffs and food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

My first coming is to celebrate Christmas's Dinner with my 15 friends. My friends and I very impressed with the place and decorations, that's so vintage and cool! But, actually we have 3 disappointed things. First, my friends order 3 lemon tea. when it comes, one of them is different from the 2 others. but, the one have the best taste between 3 of them. when we ask about the differences to the waiters, she give us a disappointed answer. when we ask to change the 2 of them to be same like the one, at the first she said that the bartender said that all of them are same. but we insist her until he change it.
Second, we order 14 kinds of main course. And 2 different waiters already repeat our order. but, after waiting for a long time, only 13 orders came. when we ask the waiters for the rest, they only tell us to wait, while they ask the kitchen. we had ask 3 waiters, and 2 of them give the same answers, without follow up or unless tell us we must waiting. the last waiters said to us to wait for about 15 mins. but, until all of them finish our meal, the food not coming yet! so, we decided to cancel the order. but, the waiter said to us to wait, while she ask the manager to meet us. but, NO ONE COME. so, we call the other waiter. and he one AGAIN ask us to WAIT! at the end, my friend still receive the food, although her mood are already drop.
Third, some of the food are not worth it to eat. I just guessing how can they put something in the SPECIAL FOR TODAY, without anything special with the food?! 3 of my friends and I order Fristo Misto Special for the day. Actually all of us are very disappointed with the food. Just consist of prawn tempura, salmon tempura, snapper tempura, salad, and tartare sauce. all of them are ordinary. nothing special. the tartare sauce doesn't have good taste too. and the tempura is plain, tasteless. the prawn is little bit overcooked too.
