“A Private and Pleasant Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

Upsides - Lovely villa, wonderful staff, excellent service, good location, quiet at the same time closeby to the happening areas like the Kuta and Seminyak beaches. Water is clean despite what some other reviews are saying.

Downsides - Portion of daily served breakfast is small, living room should have an aircon as well because it can get quite stuffy, private pool should be heated and lastly the wifi connection is unstable.

Overall a pleasant stay with warm and efficient service.

Dear JackyAndrea,

Thank you for your feedback and all the compliments for Grania Bali Villas.
We are sorry to hear about the portion of the breakfast, please be advised that we always served a standard portion of American Breakfast with some pastries. About the additional air con in the living room we are still in a discussion of getting it one soon.

Please be advised as well that our pool is an outdoor pool to keep it natural and we are not able to heat the water as it will depends on the weather. In fact most of the swimming pool are not warm when you enter it but it will be warm after you actually swim because your body is going to adjust the temperature. We will also do an action with our wifi connection soon.

Thank you and hope you will come back again for your next visit to Bali.

Cheers,

Julio Reinaldo

It was a very enjoyable relaxing trip I have ever had in Bali. For those who needs a relaxing private villas, this is the place. The villa it self quite new with a good size of pool, you can actuallly swim in it, not like any other villa which has a pool just like a big bathtub.

Other thing to mention is the water as I didn't see any problem like any other comments addressed previously that the water was bad or perhaps they fixed the problem. We have no issue with the water, it is fresh and there is no weird smell.

Friendly and hospitable staff are at your assistance. Definitely will comeback again if I have a chance.

Dear Francoisdan,

Thank you for your feedback.
Relaxing private villas and the size of the pool are the main points of what our guest usually tell us about when we asked for a feedback. In fact we always proud to have those in our guests' mind and perception.

Thank you for mentioning about the water too as we always follow up a feedback from our guest seriously and so finally we have installed a completely new well which give us a totally fresh and pure water to be distributed to our villas.

We look forward into your next visit to Grania Bali Villas!

Happy Travelling!

Warmest regards,

Our villa was exactly like what was shown in the pictures - beautiful. My girlfriend and I felt an immediate serenity upon taking our first few steps into the villa. We were greeted by cheerful faces and the in-villa check-in was a breeze. We really love the pool. The quality of pool water as mentioned in other reviews looked to have been remedied as we did not experience any weird smell or colour. The bath area consists of a huge open-air bathtub so you can soak with your loved one in the presence of nature. Breakfast was made in our villa from our private kitchen by villa staff. The staff are always friendly and helpful whenever you need them. We had some mosquito troubles as the living room area is an open area but the staff swiftly moved to get us some mosquito coils, repellent and even the spray! Location of the villa is a little obscure, but it is easily solved by getting the staff to hire a cab for you. It is just a 10 minute cab ride to the Seminyak beach and restaurants. Get this villa if you want a quiet and relaxing holiday, yet running on a budget, as we think it's rather affordable and value for money. We would like to extend our thanks to the staff and Julio for a wonderful experience in Bali.

Room Tip: We stayed in villa 1 and there's no problems in this villa.

This is my 4th time at Grania Bali Villa and enjoy each stay. If you are after a quiet and private location this is it. The Villas are located in a quiet area but not to far from local restaurants. About 15-20 minutes if you enjoy walking and 5 minutes by taxi. I would recommend grabbing a Villa card so you know the address if you use taxi. Also many taxi drivers know Bali Delhi which is close by. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly and do not disturb you if required. Although not on menu staff can cook and Indonesian breakfast which is very good. If interested in a tour or anything else they try to deliver. I stayed in Villa 4 which I like because if a nice sunny day then the pool/ outside area will be in sunlight for most of the day. Due to my 10 day stay I was also offered a free day tour which I will look at doing on my next visit !

The Villa 4 could be improved - the shower water smells and found the adjustment of the shower temperature not easy - this could be limited to Villa 4 . I would also keep a eye out on the decking around the pool as it seems that nails are starting to stick out. Also Villa 4 could do with another air conditioning unit in the Living room.

Thank you for having me again Grania Bali Villas

Dear Mr. rsmrdel,

Thank you for your comment on Grania's Trip Advisor Page.
We are really glad and so proud to have you as our valuable repeat guests.
We still owe you a free-day tour which you can do it for your next visit.

Please accept my apologies for the water smell and the stick-out decking around the pool.
We are doing a daily basis water treatment into our villas which will help to keep the quality of the water in a good condition. For the decking around the pool, we are going to nail it and make it straight move again soon. I will also let the owners know about your suggestion regarding the additional Air Conditioning unit in the living room.

Thank you once again and we hope that you will grab your free-day tour on your very next visit.

Kindest regards,

Julio Reinaldo

Good location. Not too close to beach, yet close to main activity areas - restaurants, shopping areas. This Villa, always able to find someone there to help us. Thanks for the recommendation from Julio for our Babi Guling lunch nearby at Pak Malen.

We stayed in Villa One - Just some comment that the air-conditioning at level 2 was not as strong as level 1's room. We need to on the air-conditioned even during the day, so that when we are back to the villa, level 2 is cool enough.

Dear Hweitze,

Thank you for your comment on Grania's Trip Advisor Page.
Thank you for your compliment as well for the entire staff, I would like to tell you also that the first one who had recommended the Babi Guling Pak Malen is Emma, one of my staff. It is our pleasure and what I emphasize to all staff, to always help our guest to get what they expected.

Regarding the air conditioning system, please accept my apologies for it.
It is well noted and will be fixed soon by tomorrow as today is a Silence Day in Bali where all the outside activity is not allowed.

Thank you for your comment to improve our service, and we are ready to welcome you again for your next visit.

Happy Travel!

Kindest regards,

Julio Reinaldo

We just got back from our usual annual trip from Bali, we did things in reverse this time staying at a true 5 star resort - The Westin in Nusa Dua than spending the last 4 days at a private villa - Villa Grania this time. We're vetrans of travelling to Bali and perhaps this time round we found notable differences with this villa. Location was great p central to Saminyak shopping, Bali Deli etc, staff were friendly and will helpful. A nice touch with having a christmas tree and songs playing on stereo on our arrival as we spent our Christmas in the villa. .... But unfortunately the basics were lacking. 1. the water for bathing and showering was well below standard - brown with an oxide stagnant smel - making it very unplesant despite lathering ourselves with self provided fresh smelling shampoo and bodywash, 2. toilet not flushing properly and backing up daily 3.the use of vinegar type substance in the pool - our kids usually live in and out of the pool when we're in a villa but this time they were reluctant to do so as the substance hurt their eyes and any minor cuts. 4. the cutlery and crockery is stored in a cupboard under the sink where tiling has not be been competed , the damp bare concrete smell tends to overwhelm every piece of glassware, crockery or utensils - masking an unclean feel when you just want to reach for a glass to pour your faviourite cocktail. Overall I would rate this average and owners need to take notice and improve on the basics despite making a good profit margin from their guests and staff.

Room Tip: Ensure you check on the basics

Thank you for your good comment about Grania Bali Villas.
1. About the water, on the Fifteen of December there was a big thunderstorm rain in Bali and a lot of area including ours were having a force major which affect our watering system. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and just let you know that we already took actions to fix it and we are ready to welcome you again to have a second try at Grania Bali Villas.

2. About the toilet, it is again another affect of the raining and floods as the water supply to the toilet also not in a perfect condition, but now it is fixed already.

3. About the swimming pool, actually we do a regular periodic treatment on our pool and we always check the quality water using our pool-water-meter equipment. However we do apologize once again as your children got hurt on their eyes and minor cuts, on the other hand we did our yearly villa maintenance already.

4. About the cutlery, a week before your check-in it was raining a lot all of the time and in a day the weather can be exchanged it makes the cutlery on that time was smelly. In action we have moved our cutlery to the other drawer to prevent the said things happen again in the future.

Thank you for your comment on us to improve our service and our villas and we are inviting you once again to stay at Grania Bali Villas for your next holiday.
