Everyone should eat at the Breeze once during a trip to Bali so as to see why it ranks as the best restaurant in Seminyak.
It is top end in terms of service, location, quality of food and originality of the menu. Prices are also top end, but totally in line with nearby hotels and Kudeta and La Lucciano. So, it represents better value.
We found Breeze on Trip Advisor and walked along without a booking at 7:30pm.. We had to wait for the first sitting to leave = those who book for an early dinner to watch sunset.
The meal starts with an 'amuse bouche', warm bread rolls, wasabi butter or oil. The chef's salad is very original, beautifully presented .... and delicious. The main courses are split between "western" and "asian". I tried fresh pasta and prawns with some greens. My partner tried baramundi fish in banana leaf with infused rice and Balinese spices. Very delicate and mildly spicy.
The wine list is good, and there are 8 wines by the glass (each US$20 for 150ml). Beer and soft drinks are about US$5-$6 each and seem to be popular.
There are two stand-alone tables each in an 'island' in the main pool for special occasion dining. Both were occupied last night. The 'grass' tables are nearer the bar and covered seating area. All tables are well spaced so as to give a sense of calmness and relaxation.
We are going back tonight, something that we rarely do.
